- Architect, design and build largescale, closedloop optimization systems that power Amazon websites.
- Develop smart decision engines based on ML models developed by machine learning and applied scientists.
- Own the delivery of endtoend, full stack solutions.
- Make sound engineering decisions and improve software development practices.
- Build analytics platforms to process large volumes of traffic data, trends in search terms, and other key metrics.
- Build experimentation frameworks to drive continuous testing.
- Contribute to the team's technical vision and roadmap.
- 3+ years of noninternship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of noninternship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
- Master's degree in computer science or equivalent
- Experience working with software teams to define, prototype, and implement great customer experiences.
- Understanding of common design patterns and ability to identify and mitigate design risks early in the development process.
- Experience with AWS Services (S3, Dynamo DB, Kinesis, EC2, Pinpoint, EMR, Step Functions, Fargate, CDK, AWS Glue, etc.).
- Experience in communicating with users, other technical teams, and management to collect requirements, describe software product features, and technical designs.
- Passionate about mentoring and has deep handson technical expertise in fullstack development.
- Able to learn large scale complex systems quickly.

Amazon's Automated Marketing & Events organization is building the Internet's largest-scale Search Marketing systems worldwide.The team is responsible for a number of business-critical systems that generates, target, measures and optimizes hundreds of millions of search engine ad placements and organic search listings (SERPs).
We bring prospective customers who start their shopping journeys on search engines to Amazon through our ML-driven software and systems.
We apply best-in-class digital marketing optimization techniques like search engine optimization (SEO) to process and optimize billions of webpages, images, videos and content snippets to improve Amazon's organic discoverability.
We routinely solve challenges related to large-scale distributed services, applied science (ML/NLP), big data systems and web search services. Cutting edge technology and algorithms including data mining, statistical modeling, and machine learning are the core of our business.The ideal candidate for our team is a thinker and a doer:

Key job responsibilitiesYou will lead development efforts to solve large-scale big data problems and build distributed science driven systems.
You will oversee the architecture, design and development of our solutions, which gives you the opportunity to work with a wide range of customer-facing technologies (including Tier-1 services) and collaborate with other teams.
You will collaborate directly with senior leadership and have direct influence over our teams.You will build ML-driven solutions and large-scale big data systems and services to bring customers who start their shopping journeys on search engines; and you will shape our next-generation automated closed-loop search marketing systems.
