Job Summary
The Senior Crew Chief is responsible for assisting assistant technical manager or supervisor with the technical aspects of assigned entertainment venue or events ensuring show quality and a positive guest experience.
Major Responsibilities
• Responsible for the execution and quality assurance of show crew's technical operations of the assigned entertainment venues. Monitor, conduct and proactively optimize safety operation process and procedure.
• Lead all technicians for execution good show operating for the show call within the assigned venue(s). Serves in a lead production roll over all technicians in the venue and communicate within show technical crews to make lead decisions based on the assigned venue or production related SOP. This includes but is not limited to work with technical crews assigned to the venue and handling all show technical operation issues. e.g. Write and proofread operation handbook, update and revise training documents.
• Lead responsibility to the show crew as signed by the line manager or Assistant Technical manager. Support department and park wide work as assigned.
• Coordinate and ensure that show crew attend all mandatory training classes as well as play a lead production role in lead team members to take advantage of educational opportunities to enhance and improve their job performance. Complete the operational cross training base on department needs. Complete all assigned training classes (e.g. TTT) as management team directed to improve job performance.
• Lead show crews to actively participate in Environmental Health & Safety responsibilities following established UBR policies, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities. Monitor and report the potential risk and safety hazard.
• Performs other duties as assigned. This includes but is not limited to complete the recording and sorting of daily operation documents, and sorting of fixed assets and consumables.
Qualifications
5-7 years' experience within the Theatre, Theme Park or Technical Entertainment industries.
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
• Audio: DIGICO SD/S, YAMAHA, JBL, D&B, Shure operation and management, Clear-Com operation and management.
• Lighting: MA3 or MA2, moving light, dimmer, DMX, SFX, Cable wiring, lighting fixture installation, etc.
• Video: Video system, projector, D3, video editor, etc.
• Prop: Prop, animation figure, strong prop maintains and problem-solving skill.
• Rigging: Rigging skill, participate and lead rigging installation, safety and rescue skill.
Able to use Microsoft Office with administration experience, Oral Communication skills and Leading & Motivating teams.
Knowledge of Universal preferred technical theater software and show control systems like RSS, Medialon, Alcorn Mcbride, Qsys Designer & Qlab.
Education
College diploma or above preferred. Diploma from a college, university or professional skill educational school in Technical Theater or equivalent experience of a minimum of 5-7 years within the Theatre, Theme Park or Technical Entertainment industries with basic English communication skills preferred.
