Job Summary

The Producer is responsible for the development and execution of all assigned marquee events and new entertainment development projects. The Producer is responsible for the entire project from concept to operation to deliver the creative design, production, technical, costuming, and operational needs. The scope of responsibilities of the Producer includes budgeting all costs with all teams and getting the budget approved by management level, keeping the project progress on track, and making sure all milestones are met. The Producer works alongside the assigned Show Director to deliver the approved show content. Ensuring compliance with Universal Beijing Policies and Entertainment Creative Development goals/intent and informing/advising Senior Management of Project status and Risk Assessments are also core responsibilities. Acts as the Overall Project Lead on assigned projects, supervising any assigned staff workloads and determines strategies ensuring the successful completion of all tasks and/or assignments through all aspects of design and production from original concept through design, procurement, fabrication, installation, rehearsals, operation and wrap up. The Producer shall be responsible for Initiating Master Agreement Requests, negotiating and managing vendor relationships.

The Producer should inspire the rest of the team with their creative skill and strong communication ability in the theme-park entertainment environment. While the job focuses on creativity on events/projects, the position also requires reprehensibility for providing production support for the ongoing daily entertainment operations shows and experiences. This position must be an endless resource of ideas for company projects/events, superior writing skills are a must, as is a command of multiple show production and a thorough understanding of the social and live entertainment industries.

Major Responsibilities

Works with Director in the Entertainment production team, whilst supervising and working with a sharp eye for details from end to end during the whole production process. The production team will rely on the producer to plan and execute clear strategies and schedules. this includes but is not limited to creative ideas, budgets, determining staffing requirements, timelines, etc.

Leading authorized production team on multiple projects/events and work with all Entertainment divisions to identify talent and vendors to manage resources necessary to complete projects from concept through project opening. This progress includes but is not limited to project timelines, budgets, reporting, establishing clear targets and goals, work closely with internal team, other UBR departments, vendors, contractors, and external companies. The Producer also leads the production team to work with other Entertainment teams like Creative, Technical, Costuming, Casting and Operations to draft RFPs, vendor selection and auditions, LOI/contract signing etc.

Responsible to ensure the Project's Intent is successfully executed. As part of the Project's leadership team, the Producer develops and leads the team to develop, review and manage scopes, contract documents, cost estimates, budget tracking, schedules, strategies, and work plans to align with achieving the Project's creative intent. The Producer also manages all Change Orders per the procedures stipulated by UBR Finance team and Legal team.

Manages and interfaces with appropriate internal and external resources through every phase of design, production, installation, rehearsal, operation and wrap up to ensure Creative Intent Documentation (artwork, models, design packages, treatments etc.) is properly developed and that Project Scopes, Close-out Documentation, Quality Standards and Environmental Health and Safety Standards consistently align with the Project's creative intent. Initiates Master Agreement Requests and negotiate new business with potential vendors. The Producer will also work with other divisions like Marketing, Merch, Food, CW, TS, EHS, HR etc. to make sure the events will be delivered to help drive the gate.

Ensure appropriate level and number of Creative and Technical specialist resources are assigned as needed throughout the project. Develops and manages strategic sourcing and staffing plans to support show development and production efforts. Makes employment decisions, including hiring, terminating and promotional recommendations. Evaluates subordinate staff on creative, technical, leadership and interpersonal skills. Negotiates and procures outside resources as necessary. Ensures that staffing and resources are contracted and approved to deliver project deliverables in accordance with approved project budgets and schedules. The Producer will lead the production team to supervise all vendors and its subcontractors to follow the rules and regulations in the park and maintain the show quality.

Fully support the team members and delegating tasks, structuring projects, and devising efficient processes, devising timescales, and ensuring projects/events stay within a designated budget, Liaising with clients and the creative team to ensure projects run smoothly.

Manages, interprets, communicates, and presents Project scopes, progress updates and risk assessments to a variety of audiences throughout the Project process. Develops, manages, and reports status on production budgets and schedules.

Ensures conformance with, and acquires approvals from, 3rd Party Licensors as required, to provide direction that is in conformance with all 3rd Party brand standards.

Driving processes from end to end in the whole production, this role involves encouraging the team to simplify processes to be more productive. The producer should be confident in decision making and always ready to face new challenges while striving for perfection.

Understand and actively participate in Environmental, Health & Safety responsibilities by following established UBR policy, procedures, training, and team member involvement activities to ensure a safe workplace for all employees.

Responsible to practice the core company Vision, Mission & Values, and ensure that the staff does the same.

International performance company/theme park background preferred.

Education

Graduate from university in Theater Management or Art management equivalent experience of a minimum of 5 years within the Theater, Theme Park, or other entertainment industries. Master's degree in (discipline) or equivalent experience within the Professional Theatrical Industry preferred.
