- Oversees the development and implementation of manufacturing processes to maintain proper product functionality as well as cost efficiency
- Ensures the engineering team and other manufacturing departments work together cohesively
- Responsible for the development of equipment to aid in the manufacturing process. Reviews, evaluates and implements engineering changes and specification requirements
- Manage subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets
- Provides collaborative, supportive yet challenging leadership to the Technical Group personnel
- Manage annual goals / objectives, performs Personal Development Reviews (PDR) on direct reports, fostering individual growth and development
- Work closely with research and development, quality assurance to prevent problems with products and tooling/fixtures
- Stay informed concerning new manufacturing technologies and equipment in order to manufacture and reduce cost through efficiencies
- Runs continuous improvement plans/projects such as yield, set up times, etc.
- Responsible for the attainment of the plant budget as it relates to the technical group expenses
- Analyze and design lean manufacturing cells using effective systems and simulation tools to optimize, use of space, equipment, material and personnel
- Contributes to the development and monitoring of area budget through regular analysis of cost and spending
- Interacts with internal and external customers (ie: BU), by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures
- Interprets and executes policies that affect work processes and personnel within the assigned organizational unit
- Bachelor/Master Degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or technical field with 8+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering with at least 3 years in a supervisory position
- Knowledge of fundamental design practices including: problem definition, concept selection, proof of concept, and implementation
- Technical background in Manufacturing and Automatuon, specifically process engineering
- Strong project management and team building skills, ability to establish priorities and work direction
- Strategic mindset
- Fluent in writing and speaking English and Mandarin.
