    The Account Manager is responsible for identifying, developing and commercializing new business typically via multiplication of successful existing or new developed applications at new (and existing) customers in China.

    a) Key areas of accountability/responsibility

    1. The primary function of this role is to implement Automotive, sales & marketing strategy in new business development and customers' management in East China by initiating contacts with existing and potential customers;

    2. Responsible for leveraging and coordinating GTS efforts for the projects development.

    3. Responsible for positioning new value proposals at target accounts for Commercial development of new value proposals and for communicating value proposals to the market.

    4. Accountable for initiating development agreements with customers in the case the investment is valued <10k otherwise responsible to communicate business case to the PM/Territory Manager for approval.

    5. Responsible for putting projects in the PTO tool handled by GTS.

    6. Develop and maintain networks at adequate levels in the value chain, within customer's organizations and Research, focusing on engineering and technology.

    7. Responsible to communicate towards the customer and product manager the commercial request/availability dates and market needs wrt new application developments as input to the marketing plan.

    8. Responsible for collecting market information and communicating current and emerging needs for current and new accounts within the segment and region to drive value proposal development.

    b) Authorities

    1. (Customer Specific) Value proposition development and improvement.
    2. Propose, and after approval of Product Manager, manage assigned budget for the project(s)
    3. Commercialization of targeted value propositions.
    4. Network building in the industry and East China.
    5. Knowledge building & propagation of that knowledge within DSM.

    Requirements

    Educational level:

    · Bachelor's or Master's Degree or equivalent experience in Engineering-related field

    Knowledge and experience in own discipline:

    · Broad view on industry and markets, in-depth know-how about products and/or applications

    Knowledge of and experience in other relevant disciplines:

    · Balance of commercial and technical know-how, skills and experience

    Managerial and social knowledge and experience:

    · Excellent communication, language and social skills

    · International working experience

    Required level of experiences

    · Minimum 10 years' relevant B2B experience in the field of business development

    · Creative and pioneering experience

    · Analytical skills

    · Relation builder (good social skills), net worker

    · Structured worker with project experience

    · A strong negotiator who can identify customers' needs and persuasive in presenting ideas

    · Creative and pioneering experience

    · Knowledge of business & process within his segment
