    Purpose & Overall Relevance for the Organization:

    Lead the strategy formulation process for GCA across all channels, categories and enabling functions. Set annual priorities with key KPIs. Lead the Business Reporting team to support the senior leadership drive data based decision making across key meetings and business milestones. Support GCA strategy execution through strong data analysis, business inferences and fact based approach.

    Develop the Market GCA Strategic Plan and priorities to drive consumer desire and ensure sustainable market share growth and implement the Greater China (GCA) Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Head Office operating model and support development of key strategic and business topics as needed.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Strategic Planning process

    • Contribute to the global and local Strategic Business Planning (SBP) process (including global submissions, communication, annual priorities), for mid to long term time frame
    • Develop financial and quantitative models relevant to strategy planning (e.g., business simulation, revenue projection, market share development)
    • Hold or support other regular and ad-hoc strategic planning activities (e.g., market visits, business reviews, workshops, individual briefings)
    • Serve as a liaison towards Corporate Strategy, Global Business Development (Global Sales), Global Brand Strategy, and country/cluster Business Development & Finance on relevant topics

    Special projects

    • Lead or participate in select research/strategy projects, to ensure quality outcomes and applicability to the business
    • Lead or participate in major strategic and cross-functional projects (as required)
    • Drive or work with external consulting agencies in specific topical projects

    Strategic document development

    • Ensure communication of a consistent narrative on the Strategic plan through the organization by securing alignment with Internal Comms / head office
    • Develop strategic presentations and business planning documents
    • Drive or assist in the development of executive level presentations and reports

    Market / Competitor / Consumer data & insights

    • Lead the development of data sources and central data repository of market and competitor intelligence
    • Identify key markets developments and ensure implications are considered in planning and decision-making
    • Synthesize and apply intelligence from consumer research and market insights into strategy planning with qualitative and quantitative data inputs

    Head Office

    • Drive and implement the Greater China (GCA) Senior Leadership Team (SLT) Head Office operating model and support development of key strategic and business topics as needed
    • Lead the development of executive level presentations and reports
    • Setup and drive the GCA meeting governance (with templates, key KPI reporting etc.) across strategic business meetings
    • Organize and orchestrate the GCA SLT process and calendar, including SLT meeting governance and cadence, SLT meeting preparation/organization
    • Support MD in driving SLT accountability and faster decision-making via meeting management and agenda setting

    Business Reporting

    • Lead the process of structuring key commercial MD relevant meetings – Including business performance reviews across channels, categories and support functions
    • Drive decision making with execution of the MD meeting cadence – including setting up the template & collaborating cross functionally
    • Development and maintenance of GCA key KPI database
    • Supervise and support data analysis / reporting (regular and ad hoc) to meet cross-functional requirements
    • Lead the preparation and delivery of monthly / weekly and adhoc MD led meetings
    • Connect the dots across cross functional teams with data led inferences, identifying root causes and tracking key action follow ups
    • Collect and synthesize data from existing systems and sources
    • Translate data and analysis of commercial results into concrete implications and recommendations to the SLT
    • Track and report performance KPIs with regular cadence with the SLT

    Key Relationships:

    • GCA: MD, SVP Transformation and rest of SLT and their teams, GCA finance team
    • Global: Global Sales, Business development teams, Global brand strategy teams

    KPI:

    • Proper management of SBP process and deliverables
    • Quality of market and competitor data reporting
    • Quality of data analysis
    • Overall business impact
    • Successful management of Head office (incl. Key global meetings, local SLT agenda)
    • Timely delivery of commercial MD relevant meeting documents
    • Data reporting execution (accurate and timely analysis)
    • Data reporting enhancement (relevance of analysis, translating data into insights)

    Competencies:

    • Solid business sense and critical-thinking ability – able to solve problems using both conventional judgment and ad-hoc analysis
    • Advanced analytic skills – both quantitative (e.g., financial modelling, data analysis) and qualitative (e.g., market trends, competitor analysis)
    • Very strong communication skills – written and spoken English
    • Team leadership – lead, develop, manage, and retain talent
    • Expert MS Excel users advanced excel user trained and experienced in complex modelling of financials (i.e. P&L, bottom up revenue forecasts)
    • Expert MS PowerPoint useradvanced PowerPoint & ThinkCell user with high level story telling abilities
    • Mature and credible interpersonal skills– able to quickly build trust and act as an influencer across the organization
    • Entrepreneurial – proactively defines goals and attacks them with creativity
    • Willingness to learn – a drive to learn about all aspects of the business and develop general management competency

    Requisite Education and Experience / Minimum Qualifications:

    • Minimum 10+ years of general business experience with ideally a combination of 3+ years tenure in top-tier strategy consulting firm and corporate experience
    • University degree in business/marketing, MBA preferred
    • Multi-cultural & Multi-national work experience
    • Team management & leadership experience
    • Experience with a global apparel / consumer goods brand or retailer is preferred
    • Able to work with/lead/drive/influence middle and senior leaders across functions
    • Strong statistics / market research knowledge or user experience
    • Fluent written and spoken English; Mandarin a strong plus
