Lead and manage a team of R&D engineers responsible for the development and continuous enhancement of parking features, particularly for, but not limited to, the Chinese market. Full ownership of the entire development processes, incl. ideation, research, systems development, supplier management, localization, and plant support over the entire product lifecycle. Technical support for homologation, rating, and support of lobbying activities related to parking systems.
Task description
Leadership & Management
• Lead and manage a team of engineers by defining and organizing the working scope and individual roles and responsibilities.
• Recruit and onboard new employees. Develop and support existing employees' engagement, motivation and growth within the team.
• Foster collaboration within the team as well as with other internal and external business partners.
• Manage and monitor resources (budget, personnel) effectively and efficiently with consideration of defined KPIs and the company's needs.
• Develop and realize a team strategy, which contributes to the overall strategy of the business unit and the company.

Parking Systems Development
- Build up and further enhance systems development / in-house SW development competency to empower the team for making impactful contributions to our products, both locally and globally.
- Foster an impactful collaboration between intl. teams, e.g. located in China, Germany and India, for co-development of current and upcoming systems generations.
- Assess the maturity of our parking systems, not only technically, but also considering China-specific requirements from customers, legal, regulation & rating perspectives.
- Support issue resolution & trigger market-specific adaptation in collaboration with the relevant project partners.
- Enhance local development depth to ensure most China-fit parking systems.
- Promote attractiveness of our parking systems and support to increase the take rate through communication events.
Rating & Regulation
- Active tracking of parking ratings, regulations and trends in China
- Representation of MB at conferences, official meetings and working groups with authorities and associations from R&D perspective
Parking Systems Launch
- Represent global parking systems with requirements from key stakeholders in China, e.g. BBAC, BMBS, Project Management, etc.
- Support test and validation activities for China-specific carlines (overall vehicle EE testing, QM testing, etc.)
Education
Academic degree in engineering, computer science or relevant discipline (GPA above average; M.S. preferred)
Experience
- 5+ years of experience in a related function with a demonstrated track record of extraordinary achievements
- 3+ years of experience in leading engineering teams / project teams (preferable in the field of ADAS)
- Experience in the field of ADAS, e.g. at an OEM or Tier-1 supplier; SOP experience/parking active safety function development experience would be preferred
Specific Knowledge
- Proficient knowledge in ADAS/parking related components (ultrasonic sensors, camera, radar, LIDAR), architecture design, automotive bus system including Flexray, Ethernet, CAN, LIN, etc. and diagnostic tools (e.g. CANoe).
- High motivation and strong ability to work in a highly dynamic, multi-cultural working environment
- Self-responsible working attitude and initiative
- Strong sense of leading people and driving projects
- Ability to mentor and grow capabilities of team members
- Experience in managing external suppliers and business partners
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Chinese and English
