- Drive performance improvement of specified Commodity in Asia
- Lead Purchasing activities in specific commodity alongside Commodity Buyers in other Asian countries
- Monitor supplier capabilities and market trends in Asia
- Manage and align Supplier Panel with Global Commodity Buyer
- Develop Material Purchasing strategies
- Participate in supplier nomination for key projects
- Conduct annual supplier negotiations to meet saving goals
- Implement Supply Chain Risk management
- Adhere to Contract Management guidelines
- Promote supplier transfer to LCC
- Support new project launches in Asia
- Assist in escalations from other departments like Plant, Supplier Quality, Logistics, etc.
- Perform additional tasks assigned by superiors
- Thorough understanding of sourcing
- Operational knowledge of Commodity spend
- Familiarity with business systems (SAP procurement modules, e-procurement, e-sourcing)
- Experience in intricate negotiations
- Experience working in intricate matrix organizations
- More than 3 years of Commodity buyer experience in elastomers/rubber
- Strong problem-solving skills using automotive industry tools
- Change management proficiency
- In-depth knowledge of supply markets
- Awareness of company business and corporate strategy
- Good grasp of different purchasing, project management, production requirements
- Previous experience with Purchasing/suppliers in other Asian countries is advantageous
- Proficiency in English and familiarity with Chinese, Japanese & German is a plus
