- Build and support a data catalogue with automated processes to catalogue the data
- Build automated data processing solutions to prepare, clean and on-board data into a central database and data lake with minimal manual input
- Create backend data platforms and data infrastructure to support Data Analysts and Data Scientists
- Write complex queries on top of the data design and infrastructure
- Ensure the infrastructure is easily accessible and always running smoothly
- Ensure systems meet business requirements as well as industry standards
- Experience working in Agile teams i.e. adhering to Agile methodology & delivery
- Strong interpersonal skills and stakeholder management
- SQL and NoSQL experience (eg SQL Server, MySQL, MongoDB)
- Data modelling
- Python (or a similar programming language) experience
- ETL
- Knowledge of commodity markets
- Data lake, data catalogue and data warehouse knowledge

About the Role
The Data Engineer III role performs complex research, design, and software development assignments within a software functional area or product line, and provides direct input to project plans, schedules, and methodology in the development of cross-functional software products. This SWE performs software design — typically across multiple systems; mentors more-junior members of the team; and talks to users/customers and translates their requests into solutions.
