- Assist to prepare all tax compliance filings (, CIT, VAT, Stamp duty) on monthly, quarterly and annual bases for CN entity and may also other legal entities and branch offices in Asia-Pacific Region
- Manage local vendors with respect to China VAT e-invoice processes, input VAT claim processes, VAT reconciliations, etc.
- Prepare and review the VAT, CIT reconciliations to ensure an accurate and timely filings;
- Keep up to date with tax legislation and regulations in APAC region
- Conduct regular self-assessments of tax risk followed up by action plans for identified risks to be mitigated
- Manage intercompany balances and relevant overseas remittance processes, and withholding tax declarations on timely basis
- Conduct regular tax law training sessions for all applicable departments
- Responsible for review of APAC (mainly China) transfer pricing reports
- Standardize and optimize transactions and process flows to ensure strategic tax plans are implemented properly
- Coordinate with other teams (, Legal, GAS, Treasury, Logistics) to develop process manuals to meet transaction reporting requirements, such as for importation of goods, VAT refunds, etc.
- Lead China daily tax queries/ survey and support for defense of tax and customs audits
- Assistant with APAC region tax audits where necessary
- Communicate with relevant government officials for tax refund applications
- Maintain good relationships with local tax officers, and supervise and monitor deliverables of local vendors
- Drive process and systems improvements across APAC (mainly China) Finance functions.
- Contribute to all work-streams and post go-live efforts impacting direct and indirect taxes and customs duties – EBS Tax, Vertex, Virtual Trader, OneSource Tax Provision upgrade, etc.
- Lead China VAT e-invoicing transformation for all legal entities and branch offices.
- Responsible for ASC 740 tax provision calculation worksheet covering China entities on quarterly and annual bases
- Prepare FIN 48 tax reserve analysis (US GAAP), deferred tax assets/liabilities, and tax payable forecasts
- Prepare quarterly China TP calculations, including but not limited to: marketing and payroll recharge, limited risk distributor (LRD) calculations, mark-up service fee calculations.
