Job Description:
At Cerence's AIOT team, we are dedicated to developing and delivering cutting-edge AI-based Intelligent Voice Systems for a wide range of products to our global customer base. As an NLU Engineer, your role involves active participation in prototyping and developing state-of-the-art End-to-End NLU solutions. These solutions must accurately classify user expressions and extract key information. You will also play an important role in corpus collection and preprocessing, as we believe the importance of high-quality data in achieving peak model performance. You will collaborate closely with our ASR team to enhance the voice system recognition accuracy and efficiency. Our team values innovation, provided it aligns with our core objectives. Your work will have profound impact on the experience of hundreds of millions of customers worldwide.
Key Qualifications:
1. Profound knowledge of NLP and related ML fields is essential.
2. Strong software and data-processing fundamentals with proficiency in coding languages (C++, Python, Java).
3. Demonstrated expertise in NLP solution or model prototyping, with experience in AI frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, ONNX, NCNN, TensorRT.
4. Familiarity with Model Quantization and Pruning strategies for efficient algorithm development on resource-constrained embedded platforms.
5. Exceptional logical thinking skills and a sense of responsibility to enable the transition of prototypes to final products.
6. Enthusiastic about daily collaboration and teamwork, with the ability to independently identify and analyze problems.
Additional Requirements:
1. A plus if you have publications at influential NLP academic conferences (such as ACL, NAACL, EMNLP, COLING) is a plus.
2. Multilingual background, especially proficiency in languages beyond Mandarin Chinese and English, is desired.
3. A keen sensitivity to minor semantic nuances.
Education & Experience:
1. A Master's or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field; or equivalent practical experience.
