- 1.Lead a focused team consisting of Product Development including Mechanical, Signal Integrity, Thermal, Electrical Magnetic Interference, System Engineers, all tooling Process/Project Engineers and contract manufactures to support product development process ensuring robust product design and manufacturability in low and high volumes.
- 2.Identify limitations of the proposed design and suggest improvements to meet DFM/DFx and inspection guidelines to successfully launch new products. Provide feedback on process critical dimensions and product features.Identify and lead any prototype work required in early design stage to verify use of new technology or concepts in product or process design to reduce risk and improve profitability.
- 3.Develop manufacturing strategies for new products, modifications and product extensions and drive the tooling development process to meet customer's expectations of quality and optimal cost and lead-time. This involves working with product, marketing management, finance and senior management on analysis of multiple scenarios using Global Costing Analysis to arrive at optimal solution.
- 4.Support contract manufacture plant MEs as needed in NPI and through Product End of Life into production capacity planning and continual process improvements.
- 5.Execute manufacturing strategies to support all phases of product lifetime (proof of concept and prototype thru product end of life). Work with Die, Mold, Plating, PCBa, Assembly and Automation PE's in selecting and managing internal and external suppliers to ensure successful project completion through concept, design, build, debug and qualification.
- 6.Lead and drive supplier engineers and internal design team for process and product issue analysis and resolution. Guide supplier engineers to define the process and develop the assembly fixture for new product. Verify and approve for process readiness.
- 7.Identify capacity gaps, and guide contract manufactures' production plant mechanical engineers in ramp up of new products as well as required capacity additions.
- 8.Lead and drive Cost Reduction or Quality improvement projects with Suppliers thru process efficiency improvement, increase automation, people productivity improvement and COPQ cost reduction activities thus achieving cost saving benefits for the company.
- 9.Understand, support and contribute to current Molex Total Quality Management (TQM), Six Sigma, International Standards Organization (ISO) and Environmental, and/or Health and Safety (EH&S) management Systems by following stated policies and procedures.
- 1. bachelor's degree and above 5years' experience in mechanical engineering related to the manufacture and assembly of precision electromechanical components.
- 2.Prefer have knowledge of connector/cable manufacturing processes, such as molding, stamping, soldering and assembly.
- 3.Good communication skills and strong logic analysis skills & critical thinking ability.
- 4.Knowledge of problem-solving and Lean manufacturing techniques ((DMAIC, 5Why, etc.)
- 5. Good organizational skills to handle lots of complex technical data and manage multiple competing project priorities.
- 6.Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
- 7.English communication.
- 8.Able to travel frequently.
