- Collaborate with BEs to understand research objectives and develop mathematical models describing complex phenomena in foaming/pultrusion/etc. processes.
- Utilize advanced computational fluid dynamics (CFD) techniques to simulate fluid flow, heat transfer, and chemical reactions in polyurethane manufacturing in close collaboration with an existing global group of experts for these topics.
- Enhance and refine existing CAE workflows, continuously improving their accuracy, efficiency, and reliability and contribute to the development of an automated multi-scale simulation setup by integrating these workflows. This may also involve developing new algorithms, implementing more efficient numerical methods, and refining existing models to better capture the complexities of the system being studied.
- Interpret simulation results, automate pre- and postprocessing, extract meaningful insights, and present findings in a clear and concise manner to interdisciplinary teams.
- Document methodologies, results, and findings in comprehensive reports, presentations, and technical documentation and share them with the global expert community.
- The expert will collaborate with global, cross-functional teams, including other CFD experts, materials scientists, engineers, process experts and software developers, to integrate the findings into the product development and manufacturing processes.
- Preferred: the expert can also utilize finite element analysis (FEA) tools to evaluate mechanical properties of polymers and construct computational models for analysis. This involves predicting properties such as strength, elasticity, and thermal conductivity under various conditions and environments.

Increase efficiency and speed of implementation of Digital R&D solutions by acting as the expert in multi-physics simulation, and provide professional solutions to optimize product performance, enhance manufacturing processes, and support data-driven decision-making. The expert's contributions help drive innovation, improve efficiency, and enable informed decision-making for successful product development.

Qualifications
Doctor (PhD) in chemistry, physics, engineering or related technical field, with experience in the field of computational continuum mechanics in process modeling and simulation.
- Experience in chemical/material development/application and preferred for industry applications.
In-depth knowledge of numerical methods and computational techniques for simulating complex materials and reactive flows.
Extensive experience in developing algorithms and/or implementing models into modern CAE simulation software.
Scientific programming in python and at least basic knowledge and interest in learning methods and tools of professional software development (version control with git, unit testing, CI/CD)
Experience with either high-performance computing environments (slurm) and/or containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
Proactive work attitude, taking initiative, and having a willingness to continuously expand knowledge and skills necessary for the job
Demonstrating a structured, pragmatic, and hands-on mentality.
Preferred: knowledge/experience of FEA methods in the application and development of computational structural mechanics and thermomechanics as well as other materials simulations
Preferred: Experience with open-source software development.
Fluency in English and Chinese (both written and spoken).
