- Lead the development of innovation strategy and pipeline by brand, leveraging consumer, technological and scientific insights, competitor watch, and integrating markets insights
- Identify, assess and drive forward key innovation opportunities for the brands
- Partner with Global Marketing and China Marketing at ideation stage on the development of Innovation Briefs, Competitive Assessment, Due Diligence on licensing and Business Development opportunities.
- Drive the scientific concepts, technologies, ingredients and claims strategy
- Lead the development and implementation of the brands' innovation plan (formulae, forms, packaging, clincal plan, claims etc.)
- Oversight the technical teams at feasibility and development stages for the delivery of the Innovation initiatives in the pipeline : holistic product design, development and qualification - Ensure that all relevant technical deliverables are successfully met
- Support the marketing and medical teams for the scientific communication (claims, communication supports, HCP's toolkits, videos, trainings to lead markets, FAQs...)
- Represent R&D team at brand and projects level for stage gate governance in the Brand Committee and Portfolio Committee meetings
- Key Relationships (internal and external): Within Cx Global : Product Development, Regulatory, Scientific/HCP Advisor, Marketing, Portfolio/Project Management, Consumer/Market Insights; With Group functions: M&TO and associated functions; With Cx Regional : China ; External : Consumer Research/Trend agencies, Advertising/Media agencies, Strategic suppliers/fragrance houses/packaging, CDMOs
- Master or equivalent degree in formulation, chemistry or related science.
- Proficiency in English
- More than 8 years' experience within cosmetics, or OTC franchise and products development in an international company (having franchise or products research experience will be preferred) (formulation experience is a plus).
- Proven track record of designing, developing and launching innovative cosmetics or OTC products in a FMCG/FMCH international company
- Be able to work in a matrix organization and manage teams.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills at all levels within the organization and strong technical writing capability.
- Proven track record in working successfully and collaboratively in teams in a fast paced, high performance environment in a culture that values scientific rigor, agility and empowerment.
- Excellent influencing, organizational and project management skills
- Experience in negotiating and agreeing timelines & milestones with sponsors/business partners and continually monitoring progress to ensure timely delivery on projects.
- Strong influence and communication skills; Expert level oral and written English
- Ability to work independently and to take responsibility for own projects/tasks
- Results orientated with a hands-on, can-do attitude
