- As the leader of the Industry team, you are responsible for shaping strategic directions, research agendas, technology roadmaps, managing key stakeholders, team efficacy and efficiency, and initiating new co-creation projects with domain/cross-domain research areas at Bosch.
- You coordinate and cooperate with the China & international research teams in- and outside Bosch Corporate Research and product teams of the Bosch Business Units for requirement analysis, evaluate the market of new concepts, key technology development, and knowledge & achievement transfer for commercialization.
- You will be responsible for taking care of your team's quantified business impact by managing the successful and continuous transfer of your team's cutting-edge research achievements to the current and future Industry solutions and products of Bosch Business Units.
- You lead a team of and post-doc level research scientists and research engineers in the exciting research fields of general and generative AI, knowledge graph, data science, graph machine learning / neuro-symbolic AI, modular software development, model-driven engineering, automation systems, 2D&3D computer vision, SLAM, robot planning and control, etc.
- As a successful candidate, you will have a strong track record of shaping team culture and identity. You will support the professional as well as personal development of team members. In doing so, you will contribute to the strategy development of Bosch.
- Scouting, identification, and tracking of new trends and emerging technologies together with your team in the domain of , deriving impacts on Bosch research strategy, and identifying key partners
- Initiating and collaborating with Chinese universities, research institutes, and market-leading startups, participating in / leading joint projects
- Education : excellent degree in (Technical) Mechatronics Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, or a related engineering science - ideally with a relevant doctoral degree
- Experience and Knowledge :
- proven track record in management with both project and people-leading
- profound experience in the field of Internet of Production (software engineering, model-based system engineering, data management, and semantic digital twin); best in the field of Production System
- experience in industrial automation systems (design, control, and operation), data science (knowledge graph and graph machine learning), robotics (planning and control, sensor perception), software development (SW architecture, SW development processes, SW platform development), and machine learning (overall understanding, knowledge of trends, experience in leading ML projects) is a plus
- familiar with Bosch Production System (BPS) - Production Processes and Production IT Systems ( MES, ERP, APS, SAP, etc.), and Product Engineering Standards (PES) – Product development process and project management
- multiple years of experience in technology research or pre-development projects ( acquisition and management of publicly funded projects)
- ideally, background in production technology/industrial automation
- Personality and Working Practice :
- passionate, strategic, able to act in uncertainty/complex stakeholder constellations
- International experience is a plus
- Passion for innovation & entrepreneurial mindset
- Strong analytical and technical skills concerning strategic thinking, problem-solving
- Excellent communication skills and strong commitment to customer satisfaction
- Experience in supervision of PhD students and postdocs is a plus
- Proven leadership skills, as an academic group leader, or via leadership experience in industry
- Enthusiasm : for research that delivers impact for Bosch and to sustain as well as further develop team excellence, systematic portfolio and competence management
