Peter Varley

I have been a teacher of English since 2018 in China, teaching several grades.  Before coming, I had other careers which gives me a broad perspective.  Some of proud moments are being promote to a management level job, hosting Meetup for a long time, and performing music.  I have lived mainly in the USA and the UK.  I am married.

I have worked in the military, as a driver (customer service), as a sales representative and as a cleaning supervisor before coming to China.  I have performed music for my students and created sing-a-longs, and I enjoy doing something creative for my classes.  I also endeavor to follow the communicative model of teaching.  I have learned a lot of this theory from books.  I understand what it takes to learn a new language from basic to near fluency, as I have done this myself with French.

I have a Bachelors degree with honors earned from 2011-2017 at the Open University in the UK.  It is in social sciences and French.

I have a TEFL certificate of 120 hour

I have completed vocational training in medical transcription in 1993

I have recently been studying at Pitman College online for business related studies.
