Matt Turner

I was born in Cambridgeshire, England and I graduated from the University of the Arts London, Camberwell, London, England, which is now rated as the second-best art university in the world (QS Would University Rankings 2023) with a degiee in graphic design and illustration. I have been an ESL teacher for the past 15 years, and during that time I have explored and developed in the fields that I love and am passionate about, art and education. I believe that it is important to be innovative in order to spark the imagination of young, inquisitive people. It is important to encourage critical thinking and enquiry, reinforce core values, support independent learning and provide the right scaffolding for children to explore their ideas. I believe that culture is the real magic that underlies language learning!

I have spent the last 14 years as an ESL teacher exploring and developing the profession I love and have a passion for. These years of experience have given me a good insight into the workings of private and public institutions, universities and schools, and the difficulties students encounter in each setting. I have also been an interlocutor for FCE and CAE Cambridge exams. 

I am currently studying a PGCE in education with Leeds Beckett University. I have a degree in graphic design and illustration with University of the Arts London. I have studied a diploma in early childhood education. I have studied various art courses in; traditional Peruvian gourd carving led by the famous artist Sixto Seguil, ceramics course led by Engineer Honorio Bautista.
