Carmen Claasens

A certified teacher with a PGCE specialized in Design (FET Phase), Visual Arts, and Drama (Senior Phase), TEFL, and Bachelor's of Arts degree specialising in fashion design. I have 4 years of experience educating students in language schools and 2 years teaching 2nd grade in a bilingual school. SACE accreditation pending, and seeking to to bring creativity and enthusiasm to your ESL classroom.

I have 4+ years experience in teaching English at a language school. My responsibilities included:

1. Preparing course materials 
2. Designing lessons that cover all aspects of the English language
3.  Keep track of student progress 
4. Customize individual plans to meet student requirements

I have taught students from ages 3-14 and have dealt with small and bigger sized classrooms.

I have really enjoyed working with primary level students through my experience as an ESL/EAL teacher. My experience as an English teacher has helped me to understand child development and has caused me to want to be a part of helping young children to build foundational skills for learning and expression.

The Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) enables me to enter the teaching profession to further my mission and journey as an educator.
