IN 2020 MAKE PROGRESS WITH MICRO-CHANGE
2019 is gone and 2020 is here and you probably made promises to yourself!
This year I am going to quit smoking because smoking is disgusting!
This year I am going to save money!
This year I am going to lose weight!
This year I am going to make new friends!
This year I am going to NOT eat MEAT!
This year I am going to get a new career or a new car!
These promises are called New Year's Resolutions!
It's easy to get swallowed by a bad day or disappear in a bad year or a bad habit or relationship, but we are going to learn how to reach our goals in 2020 by learning how to deal with our fears, anxieties ,worries and bad habits.
BE THE CALM IN THE STORM
Anxiety can sabotage our goals because experiencing anxiety is stressful and stress is the number one reason people have bad habits like drinking and smoking or over eating. People drink and smoke at first because they like it, but mostly because they worry. When something becomes an addiction it stays in our life because of worry not because of like. We worry about money so ironically, we smoke or we worry we won't fit in, so we drink or we feel bad so we eat to feel good. These habits cannot simply go away overnight, which is why most people fail at their New Year's Resolutions. They try to change years of bad habits and decision making in a day. At least give yourself a year to make progress towards bad habits you have likely been building for a decade.

GOING COLD TURKEY DOESN'T WORK!!
You made a goal to lose weight, eat better, quit smoking, quit drinking, save money, so achieve it. Do it. Here is the thing about New Years Resolutions, the idea to improve life or quit a bad habit or gain a better habit is a great idea, but the approach most of us take is wrong, which is why we do not reach our goals. People tend to give up if they slip up. It's okay to slip if you try again and keep it up.
