Brief Anatomy of Women's Repression: Men Have The Power by Lyon Brave

As American women, we are supposed to be the freest women there are, but we don’t feel free.

We still feel stifled and repressed every time a man calls us baby, or grabs our ass, or is in a higher paid position than us with a lesser degree, or when we know the only way we will get that promotion is to sleep with the boss. A male candidate would never be put in such an unfair implication, but women are put in them all the time. It is not enough that we cater to men's lives, but they want our lives too and our bodies. We are bullied into giving them sex. We are bullied into accepting a partner we don’t love because we don’t have economic freedoms. At times we feel helpless in a man’s world and often times we are.

Yes, I hate the way i am expected to act as a woman the most, which to men means they have a right to sexualizing me and everything has to be about their sexual version of me, which means they want me to dress a certain and deny my own personality for a submissive version of myself. They all want me to act like their fantasy girlfriend before even speaking with me most days. Mostly, I hate that they always want me to act dumb...and pretty

The thing is - is that as a woman, every time I leave the house I feel threatened by other humans who are bigger and stronger and more confident than me. Whether it is a man muscling in front of me in line or staring aggressively at my breasts. Every day I am being 'reminded' of how as a woman I am inferior to men in every way. Well over 2000 years of 'civilisation' and we are still hung up on making judgments about people according to the way they look.

I don't defend wrong acts, injustice and favoritism from any side. I am against this regardless who does evil whether a man and woman. I don't try or aim to detract the conversation and I have no wish to do so Lyon Brave. I have girls and I have brought them up to be free. Men who slave women produce kids who shall be submissive. The same goes for women. SO as not to detract the discussions I stop here.

@Ali 🐝 Anani, Brand Ambassador @beBee In Thailand to hold a job it is mandatory I wear a skirt. Women are being sold into sex slavery at an alarming rate. 86% of violent crimes are committed against women by men. In Afghanistan girls are often married off at 8. There are many countries that literally protects rapists. What you just said is the equivalent of saying well, white people experience racism too. It really misses the point that kind of thinking and talking and honestly detracts from the conversation instead of adds to it.

You are oppressed and also have the freedom to write this buzz Lyon Brave.! How come many men feel subordinates to their wives and mother-in-laws? How many men feel so at home? The result is that they try to control others at work. I am not denying that women need to have their freedom, but also I don't deny that some women have denied men their freedom. The guiding principle that slaving people is a horrible act, whether it comes from men or women. I have yet to read one story of a woman admitting controlling others' lives.
