Brief Anatomy of Women's Repression: Men Have The Power by Lyon Brave
VIDEO Men have been abusing there physical strength for years against women. Most crimes are committed against women by men.
The reason men have been allowed to place women in subordinate positions for years is because women are givers and men are takers and this difference in mentality, as well as women being physical weaker has made women easy prey for predators for centuries, but it’s time we gain our voices and demand our economic freedom. We are sick of being devalued as women and being seen as possessions to owned by men. It really is simple; life is unfair because the greed of one group purposely prevents access to resources of another group, though there is plenty.
This lack of a valuable resource automatically puts the group in need of it in a powerless position, which makes them easy to control. The group with the resources gets to control them, thus giving them the power and shifting them into the superior group. This is why men keep the money from women, because if women had economic freedom, who knows if men would ever have sex, but more importantly they get to control.
Women have lost many basic rights in Afghanistan… Marry as young as eight, even with abusive husband. No rights that have to do with marriage, divorce, or children custody. If raped, brings dishonor to her family, when she did nothing wrong. Legally can get only half of what her brothers’ get from parents. Education not allowed by the Taliban. Can’t go to any public gatherings. ]
Now, in America women have gained a fair amount of economic freedom, but it is still not enough to say we are free from men’s repression, just freer than women in more repressed countries like Afghanistan who have virtually no rights. Society has brainwashed us, teaching us we need a man, to cater to them, to be subordinate, to take abuse, to not hit back, to believe in love, but when we are giving up everything to be with men, that is an act of entrapment, of self destruction and the reason it is so easy to pretend like it is something less harmful, is because we gave these beings our precious bodies, maybe even got pregnant, and we don’t want to feel disgusted, or used, so we imagine we are in love to hide the truth, that we were tricked, that we were fooled, and used as a maid and a sex slave so men had plenty of time to work on their dreams, while we women forgot about ours doing laundry.
As American women, we are supposed to be the freest women there are, but we don’t feel free.
We still feel stifled and repressed every time a man calls us baby, or grabs our ass, or is in a higher paid position than us with a lesser degree, or when we know the only way we will get that promotion is to sleep with the boss. A male candidate would never be put in such an unfair implication, but women are put in them all the time. It is not enough that we cater to men's lives, but they want our lives too and our bodies. We are bullied into giving them sex. We are bullied into accepting a partner we don’t love because we don’t have economic freedoms. At times we feel helpless in a man’s world and often times we are.
