    Position summary:

    • New business opportunity development and maintain customer relationship.
    • Directs and organizes the Engineering activities for the friction operations.
    • Through his Engineers, ensures that customer test requirements and test reports are provided in a timely manner.
    • As leader, initiate and perform tasks for the APQP process.
    • Work with manufacturing facility to assure manufacturability of design and friction behavior.
    • Travel when required to support the customer and to support/develop new opportunities.
    • Actively participate in achieving corporate and divisional goals and objectives as to quality, cost, profit, return on sales, productivity, and customer service, adherence to budget goals.
    • Ability to conceptualize new designs and concepts.
    • Actively participate in technical societies as they relate to Friction Products.
    • Work closely with Product sales team in developing specific customer account strategies. Prepares customer presentations and may be the representative at customer meetings.
    • Have a proficient knowledge of internal and customer systems and how to use them to benefit the business.
    • Communicate the changing needs of the marketplace to assist in the development of new products and materials.
    • Share knowledge with and mentor other Application Engineers and Account Managers.
    • Responsible for preparing and managing annual budgets for the Engineering Department.
    • Suitable for frequency business trip and workload

    Key responsibilities:

    • Program responsibility assignment / resource planning
    • Merit process, salary re-numeration, track of HR market competitiveness trend
    • Follow up improvement actions via customer map
    • Balance workload distribution between team members, work planning
    • AE control, ensure compliance with TEN standards
    • Final revision of all DVP reports package prior submission to customer
    • Participate on RFQ screening mtg, ensure risk assessment discussion with METC
    • Active participation on Engineering staff mtg
    • Align activities follow up with Sr. Technical Manager
    • Follow up on APQP process
    • Localization progress follow up, balance workload between team members
    • Participates drawing standardization steering committee meeting, drive execution
    • Regular involvement during customer visits, increasing perception of Engineering
    • Drive Engineering Risk Assessment and follow up on actions
    • Knowledge on caliper & vehicle, EMB etc.. new technology

    Ideal candidate experience:

    • Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in Engineering or applicable discipline from four-year college or university.

    Skills and capabilities (leadership and/or functional):

    • Supervision experience either as a manager or a supervisor/team leader.
    • Able to organize and set tasks for others and monitor progress
    • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities required.
    • Strong presentation, analytical and computer skills are essential.
    • Must be bi-lingual in Chinese and English / Germany.
    • Customer relationship

    Qualifications/ certifications:

    • Five years experience in Engineering, or related field along with at least eight years of practical experience in a heavy duty manufacturing environment and a broad understanding of automotive industry systems or a combination of education and experience.
    • Applicable experience would include friction pad / caliper / OEM knowledge
