    JOB TITLE: TCL Scientist, Electrical & Electronics, Application Development & Industry Solutions, Polymers T&I

    ORG UNIT NAME: Technology & Innovation

    LOCATION (CITY/COUNTRY): Shanghai/China

    JOB PURPOSE

    Lead and drive material and application development for Electrical & Electronics Industry, with SABIC existing product portfolio via new application development, or with new product introductions. Drive both internal (with cross-functional stakeholders) and external (with value chain partners) collaborations. The role will be global, with more specific focus on the Asia Pacific market and customers.

    Job Responsibilities

  • Develop new grow areas in Energy Transition, include but not limited to Energy Storage, Battery technology, EV charging, 5G systems, etc
  • Actively collaborate with customers, segment team to understand market needs, translate these into innovation projects with tangible business impact to growth on this E&E market
  • Create a feasible Technology roadmap for some focus areas and sub-applications based on the E&E industry roadmaps and T&I capability
  • Identify gaps/needs on testing capability/application competency
  • Prioritize projects, coordinate resources
  • Drive projects to deliver within predefined deadlines
  • Provide design expertise in understanding and evaluating material- and application related market needs. Translate these needs into clear design opportunities and requirements
  • Compare existing solutions to customer needs, in order to help establish firm base for technical program initiation
  • Continuously improve the E&E portfolio, for both products and solutions
  • Proactively communicate with project members and business stakeholders on project progress towards business goals and address potential gaps/barriers.
  • Actively participate in project reviews and project Gate reviews.
  • Interface with Intellectual Property team to maintain and ensure specific applications Intellectual Property coverage in the scope of their projects.
  • MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

  • Ph. D or Master degree with 6 years+ experience on Application Development or Materials Science.
  • Preferred experiences in battery technology, energy transition, solar, energy storage, 5G.
  • Experience on Customers interactions and downstream industries knowledge. Preferably on Electrical and/or Electronics industries.
  • Ability to operate in a highly matrixed environment. Strong in collaboration internally and external.
  • Outstanding ability to interface and work across functions.
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering technical innovation and business results.
  • Strong project management skills.
