    GCB7IC Location(Country/City): China/GuangZhou/TKH Recruiter: Wisdom Z H LV Why join us? Underwriting Services undertakes all credit risk related processing for Retail Banking customers from the point of initial customer evaluation to the point of pre-delinquency or closure.

    The primary purpose of UwS is to manage the credit risk to the Bank in line with the stated risk appetite and policies while meeting agreed customer journey standards and enabling the business to grow profits sustainably; and to ensure that Underwriting Services processes will adhere to all applicable global and local regulatory policies and Bank standards including relevant credit policies.

    The jobholder has responsibility for providing a high quality service to achieve maximum customer satisfaction by providing credit approvals for both mortgage and unsecured lending applications received via the branch network and direct sales channels.

    What you will need to succeed in the role:


    • The role is to foster and encourage a sound common credit culture and to avoid undue risk concentrations, with the aim of ensuring a sustainable high quality lending portfolio.
    • The jobholder must be fully aware of the need to meet customer requirements and the overall effect of the market place on the credit process.
    • Obtain delegation limit for secured/unsecured products where applicable
    • At all times, credit standards as issued by Credit & Risk must be adhered to
    • An awareness of credit risk/credit principles and procedures pertaining to the approval of mortgages and unsecured lending products.
    • Knowledge of HSBC group and its operations and products.
    • Provide excellent customer service.
    • College education in any discipline. Higher qualification not a bar provided aspirations are commensurate with the position (Degree in finance related is preferred). What additional skills will be good to have?
    • Highly motivated, self-starter with the ability to deliver to tight timeframes.
    • Ability to work effectively, prioritizing tasks whilst always maintaining high standards of quality and accuracy.
    • Attention to detail, good planning and organizational skills.
    • 2 years or above Finance industry experience.
    • Ability to understand Cantonese in vocal.
    • Fluent English/Mandarin/Cantonese in vocal (For Call Team).
    • Demonstrates new ways of working to improve performance
    • Effectively shares perspective on an issue while encouraging two-way communication
    • Is self-aware and understands personal capability gaps
    • Takes ownership of problems until resolves
    • Anticipates, understands and is responsive to customers' true needs and priorities
