Huili Schools form the bilingual arm of Wellington College China and offer a 3 – 18 educational program that combines the Chinese National Curriculum with the best of the West. Whilst there will be a strong emphasis on academics, Huili School Nantong also fosters the pastoral and holistic aspects of school life to produce well-balanced, rounded, confident individuals who are ready to go out into a globally connected world. We are looking for a qualified Boarding Housemaster/mistress (with the possibility of Head of Boarding for the right candidate) with boarding leadership experience, who is keen to share their love of the subject with their pupils. Experience in an international settings is welcome as is experience in multi-lingual environments, and in the UK state or private sectors. Most of our pupils are Chinese and we help them on their journey to developing fluency in English as they progress through the school before going to university abroad (mainly in the UK and US).

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

We are looking for someone who can provide a vibrant and positive pastoral and academic experience for boarders by leading a busy boarding house of pupils and staff with tangible enthusiasm and commitment to promoting the care and wellbeing of the boarders. The Housemistress / Housemaster will be expected to contribute to boarding life and will be a highly qualified teacher with experience of boarding and leadership. A clear understanding of the pastoral needs of boarders within a bilingual setting is essential, as is an awareness of the demands of a full-time residential boarding post where flexibility and resilience are required. This post comes with accommodation within the boarding house.
