    We are looking for a Development Operations Engineer to join our Cloud team in Beijing. This is an amazing opportunity to work on Ex Libris, our SaaS solutions designed for libraries. The team consists of 6 people and is reporting to the Manager, Development Operations Engineering. We have a great skill set in Cloud and we would love to speak with you if you have skills in Cloud and virtualization management, and systems administration experience.

    About You – experience, education, skills, and accomplishments


    • 2+ years of work experience.


    • Experience with Virtualization Services such as KVM, VMWare.


    • Ability to learn independently.


    • English at a very high level both written and spoken.


    • Unix/Linux administration experience.


    • Working knowledge of programming and scripting languages. Python or Bash at a high level.


    • Knowledge in Network architecture and components (FW, Load Balancer, switches Routers) and networking diagnosis.


    • Experience in NAS/SAN storage solutions.


    • Excellent communication skills.


    • Must be a team player.


    • Highly service oriented with strong interpersonal skills.


    • Strong analytical skills and ability to collate and interpret data from various sources.


    • Strong multitasking capabilities.


    • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritize tasks.


    • BA/BS Degree Computer Science/Engineering or equivalent educational background


    • Documentation experience – Writing technical documents.

    It would be great if you also have . . .


    • Knowledge in Jenkins pipelines & Job DSL


    • CI/CD working experience.


    • Knowledge in version control solutions.


    • Knowledge in Kubernetes systems


    • Knowledge in Monitoring Tools.


    • Knowledge in CCNA.


    • Experience with ITSM tools (ServiceNow), ITIL Certified.


    • Familiarity with DB such as Oracle, My SQL, MS SQL, Cassandra, Hadoop.


    • Additional languages will be considered an advantage.


    • Windows administration experience.

    What will you be doing in this role?

    As a Development Operations Engineer, you will be part of a large, global operations team responsible for implementing operational procedures for internal and customer-facing production infrastructure and applications. You will act as owners of all aspects of service operations – from availability to security to service level compliance.


    • Maintain Cloud infrastructure globally in various Cloud and virtualization management tools (KVM, OVM, K8S).


    • Provide second-tier support for cloud services in multiple Data Centers including emergency support on-call rotation of 24/7.


    • Perform troubleshooting and analysis of service disruption incidents and create both reactive and preventive procedures.


    • Take a methodical approach to stability analysis and scaling, interface with Cloud Infrastructure, support, and development teams.


    • Enhance monitoring configurations and automate response actions.


    • Assist in the planning, implementation and documentation of various systems onboarding into the cloud infrastructure including servers, network equipment, and a variety of software applications.


    • Plan and execute enhancement projects such as software upgrades, storage migrations and developing automations to orchestrate daily operations in our cloud.

    About the Team

    The team consists of 6 people and is reporting to the Manager, Development Operations Engineering. We are part of a Global operation group which consist of over 50 engineers. We work closely with Ex Libris cloud teams around the world such as Network engineering, Cloud Architecture and Storage engineering. We support internal and external customers globally.

    Hours of Work

    This is a full-time position, primarily working core business hours in your time zone, with flexibility to adjust to various global time zones as needed.

    The position requires taking part in a roster of on call duty during off working hours. And taking part in planned maintenance activities during weekends occasionally.

    This is a hybrid position working in the office at least 3 days a week.
