- Contributes to the development of the innovation strategy, working closely with the global technical community, external partners, local commercial team and matrixed functions (medical, regulatory, packaging & design) to support VMS category growth
- Collaborates closely with commercial team in China to serve the needs of the market for the VMS category
- Manages project pipeline to deliver meaningful consumer health benefits and grounded in science and medical unmet needs
- Is responsible for developing scientific insight and initiating new innovation projects together with his/her commercial counterparts, always seeking opportunities for scale across the globe
- Defines best technical path/strategy for NPD (off-the-shelf solution, external vs internal development, roll-out or adjustment of existing formulas) and drives the development of Target Project Profile
- Lead initiation of projects to build a best-in-class pipeline, driving execution of approved projects
- Provides leadership and technical expertise to the initiation, scoping and feasibility development of new products.
- Provides leadership and technical support to the Technical Project Leaders for pipeline execution.
- Uses the global R&D network and development centers to get advice, information and/or technical support.
- Effectively leverages CMOs and expert network for external development.
- Ensure a strong connection with suppliers and universities to identify new technologies aligned with the business needs.
- Liaises with External Innovation and Partnerships to understand potential for external innovation and development.
- Leads technical due diligence for in-licensing options.
- Provides technical and personal development leadership through training, mentoring, coaching and performance management of the team
- Bachelor's degree with 12+ years (or Master's degree with 10+ years, or PhD with 6+ years) of significant experience in FMCG / Consumer Health
- A proven track-record of delivering consumer inspired, science based and new to category innovation in the Consumer Health or Consumer Goods Industry from Ideation to launch.
- Passion for Consumer inspired innovation.
- Strong scientific and business acumen
- VMS Category experience not necessary, but strong plus.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills, particular in crossfunctional teams
- Ability to work with and influence all levels in the organization.
- Outstanding project management and creative problem-solving skills.
