- Serve as strategic sparring partner for the leadership teams and the Executive Management of Coloplast A/S
- Lead team to deliver results by providing legal advice on contractual and legal risks (and other risks) while taking into consideration the business objectives
- Develop, implement, and oversee legal training
- Define and develop corporate policies, procedures and programs and conduct training
- Ensuring legal compliance when launching major initiatives & projects
- Oversee team and set guidelines for reviewing contracts and delivering legal advice in accordance with company policies and legal requirements
- Identify legal risks and advise on areas of improvements in light of applicable laws, industry practice, case law, company strategy etc.
- Ensure relevant contract templates and other relevant templates tailored to Coloplast are developed and implemented including contracts, statements of works, NDAs, RFP terms and conditions, etc.
- Structures and manages the Region Asia Pacific legal team
- Ensure team delivers results and meets deadlines
- Ensure the function delivers legal services in alignment with customer needs and expectations
- Oversee the selection, retention, management, and evaluation of all outside counsel
- Cultivate a culture of teamwork and business partnering
- Drive stakeholder management
- Provide coaching and guidance to ensure team member's retention and development
- Juris Doctor or master degree
- Qualified to practice law in Mainland China
- Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience
- Experience in providing strategic sparring to executive leadership
- Experience in developing, implementing, and driving legal strategy supporting the business strategy
- Experience in managing external counsels, including legal spend
- This role may require up to 30% travel, both domestically and internationally
- Adhere to Coloplast principles while maintaining customer focus and delivering results
- Broad knowledge of all areas within medical devise law, commercial law, and corporate law
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to create trust and influence at executive level
- Excellent stakeholder management skills
- Strong negotiation skills
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritize task, meet deadlines, and deliver results
- Ability to balance legal risks with business risk and business needs
- Experience in managing a legal team
- 8 or more years of experience as a lawyer within the medical device, medical products or related industry, working in an in-house or private practice capacity
- Experience managing complex projects/deals

Job Function Summary:
The General Counsel for Region Asia Pacific is responsible for safeguarding Coloplast by ensuring freedom to operate and protect the company's reputation through proactively identifying, monitoring and mitigating risks.
The General Counsel manages and leads the Region Asia legal team and is a member of the China Management Team as well as the Region Asia Leadership Team. The General Counsel acts as a strategic advisor to the Chronic Care Leadership Team, the Wound and Skin Care Leadership Team, the Atos Leadership Team and the Region Asia Pacific Leadership Team (Mainland China, Japan, Korea, Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Australia and New Zealand).
The General Counsel serves as Corporate Secretary for the Region Asia Pacific legal entities and provides legal support on sensitive and/or critical business matters and oversees the provision of all legal counselling and services by the legal team.
The General Counsel has the overall responsibility and accountability for all legal matters, including matters relating to contract negotiation, employment law, program designs and other matters pertinent to the business and Region Asia. Furthermore, the General Counsel is responsible for developing and implementing relevant policies and procedures.
The General Counsel supports and liaises with other functions locally and globally, such as Compliance, Regulatory Affairs and Finance. The General Counsel is also responsible for selecting and managing external counsels as well as for managing the legal budget, including external spend.
The General Counsel reports to the Group General Counsel and is part of the Group Legal, IP & Business Ethics leadership team.
In alignment with the Group General Counsel, the General Counsel sets the direction and strategy for the Region Asia legal team and ensures that there is alignment between the Region Asia Legal KPIs and the overall company strategy.
