    About the role –

    The Senior Red Team Researcher is a member of the Counter Adversary Operations team within the Global Cyber Defense team and will focus on identifying security risks and suggesting improvements to prevent future incidents and improve security. The role is accountable for planning cybersecurity and technology assessments, executing red team engagement requests, and evaluating technology systems for exploitable vulnerabilities.

    The successful person will act as a senior cybersecurity professional for a wide range of technologies throughout the corporate network, will guide improvements to preventative and detective cybersecurity capabilities, and will assist in cross-training and capabilities with cybersecurity colleagues.

    Key responsibilities

  • Plan and execute objective-oriented Red Team Assessments to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities in software, hardware, and configurations.
  • Collaborate with defensive cybersecurity teams to report findings, propose preventative solutions, and propose detective capability improvements.
  • Conduct "Purple Team" exercises to collaborate with cyber security defenders to improve detective capabilities and maturity among the Global Cyber Defence team.
  • Continually test security controls to validate intended functionality.
  • Stay current with emerging cyber threats, trends, and hacker tactics and incorporate threat intelligence into testing strategies and mitigation efforts.
  • Act as a technical escalation point for cybersecurity risk identification to assist with risk assessment, risk management, and mitigation paths.
  • Qualifications and skills

    Essential

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology / Information Security or equivalent experience in technology.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in a technology related field or 4 years in penetration testing or red teaming.
  • Understanding of security controls and how they are used to detect and respond.
  • Knowledge of common network protocols, edge routing technologies, firewall/IDS/IPS, SIEM, EDR/XDR.
  • Ability to communicate complex problems succinctly.
  • Ability to work within a team environment, sharing workload and responsibility.
  • Preferred skill set-

  • GIAC Certified Penetration Tester (GPEN)
  • GIAC Certified Web Application Penetration Tester (GWAPT)
  • Offensive Security Certified Professional (OSCP)
  • Fluent in Python and Powershell
  • GIAC Defending Advanced Threats (GDAT)
