= Objectives =

• Lead Transportation Team to deliver BASF cargo and compliantly to end customers.
• Drive for continuous enhancement on logistics solutions to provide cost effective and time efficient delivery services to Business Units
• Design best distribution network with most propriate facilities and best cost for BASF sales channels.
• Lead Sample Competency Center to provide a full package of sample management service, including import & export, storage, packaging, label, order management, delivery and etc.
• Align Transportation and Distribution Safety (TDS) related processes and practices with EHS expert
• Drive Domestic Delivery Community in China

= Main Tasks =
Domestic Transportation Management for both of inbound & outbound

• Transportation management, incl. delivery service KPI and TDS KPI
• Solve the problems in daily operation and coordinate internally with other departments in the company and externally with customer and LSP to provide good service to internal/external customer with cost control
• Logistics cost verification, payment application
• Logistics Service Provider (LSP) performance (KPI) management, incl. Non-conformity recording and handling
• Insurance claim for transportation damages and losses
• Be accountable for outbound transport operations, working with customer service team and 3rd party service providers to mitigate the risk of shipment/delivery delays
• Monitor and make the necessary decisions to ensure timely delivery, in full, complete documentation and no complaints
• Obtain and report timely and accurate delivery status
• Key user of SAP system

Sample Competency Center Management

• Manage the transportation of commercial and R&D samples for import, export and domestic
• Ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of sample logistics such as delivery lead time and transportation costs as well as identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions
• Manage the storage and warehousing of samples

Quality Management, Governmental Regulation and TDS Adherence

• Monitor NCM investigation and closing progress
• Monitor changes of transportation related regulations from local authorities and ensure timely reflection to working procedure and instructions
• Ensure transportation fully adhered to government regulations, ISO procedures / processes / working instructions and TDS requirements.
• Organize transportation safety training, lead Truck & Cargo security check, and manage the utilization of LSP owned trucks and TDS accident investigation and the improvement measurement to be followed if any.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify and analyze drawbacks / risks and work out feasible solutions
• Do customer survey and communicate with corresponding BUs and legal entities to meet higher request of them continuously
• Take corrective and preventive actions as agreed upon with logistics management
• Innovation with feasible solutions for work efficiency improving and cost saving

Process and practice sharing & alignment with other China logistics teams

• Share and implement best practices and processes regarding transportation operations / Transportation and Distribution Safety with other logistics teams in BASF Greater China
• Work on transportation operations / TDS management related projects to drive efficiency, effectiveness and safety improvement, with project solutions applicable for whole China

Team management and talent development

= Job Requirements =

Education:
Bachelor's degree or above in international trade, logistics, supply chain or related discipline, degree in Chemistry or Chemical Engineering would be a strong plus

• Minimum 10 years working experience in logistics or supply chain
• Experienced with chemical industry will be an added advantage
• Strong leadership skills with proven track record in Management position
• Excellent English and Mandarin communication, both written and verbal
• Familiar with SAP
• Skillful in software of excel, word and PowerPoint;
