该职位来源于猎聘 The Construction Manager, Tailings Storage Facility, shall lead and direct the execution of a tailing's storage facility on a greenfield's gold mining project.
Key responsibilities include managing detailed design interface with construction contractors, developing constructability plans with the construction contractors, executing the works ensuring all safety, quality compliance, schedule and cost targets are met.
Project planning and management:
Plan, coordinate, budget, and supervise all construction aspects of the tailings storage facility project. Coordinate construction contractor resources, including personnel, equipment, and construction materials.
Budget and cost control:
Ensure the works are executed on time and within approved budgets. Drive contractor construction efficiencies, seek opportunities to simplify and accelerate the works.
Supervision and leadership:
Lead, train, and mentor on-site teams and supervise subcontractors to ensure quality standards and project objectives are met. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
Technical Oversight:
Oversee earthworks, material placement, and surface water management systems.
Work closely with the Engineer of Record (EoR) and design teams to ensure construction aligns with detailed engineering designs and drawings.
Safety & Compliance:
Champion a strong safety culture and ensure all construction activities adhere to regulatory standards. This includes conducting regular safety inspections and managing statutory responsibilities.
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC): Implement and monitor rigorous QA/QC programs during the construction phase, with a specific focus on concealed works and material specifications to ensure long-term structural integrity.
Monitoring and Analysis:
Implement geotechnical monitoring programs and analyze data to assess the stability, drainage, and overall integrity of the TSF during and after construction.
Knowledge:
Detailed understanding of soil mechanics, hydrology, slope stability, and the latest industry trends and technologies.
Risk Management:
Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with potential dam failures or other environmental hazards, and keep emergency response plans updated.
Stakeholder Coordination:
Liaise with multi-disciplinary teams, including geotechnical engineers, , contractors, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
Leadership:
Strong leadership and communication skills are essential for managing teams and interacting with diverse stakeholders. Direct leadership experience developing large scale tailings storage facilities in challenging climates and terrain.
Project management:
Proficient in managing project execution schedules, project budgets and risk management systems.
Technical knowledge:
A strong understanding of civil design and earthworks operations, heavy equipment, and construction best practices.
Problem-solving: Ability to work under pressure, adapt to changing environments, and solve problems independently.
