    The Job

    The position entail working with a multidisciplinary team as part of product transfer, dual sourcing activity or new product development cycle, which includes developing a new Manufacturing location, new supplier or developing concepts and taking them from initial design and prototyping through commercialization. The candidate will be required to work closely with lead project engineers, fellow engineers, other cross functional team and suppliers to design and manufacture engineering components. As a Mechanical / Design Engineer, you will -

  • Utilize the Product Development Milestone processes for execution, coordinate and lead all new product builds (Prototype, ESL, MSL, Pilot) in an efficient manner
  • Participate design review, meet with suppliers with providing input and knowledge sharing on manufacturability to product design during development
  • Analyze data to reach sound design/business decisions in complex technical situations
  • Review samples builds readiness at suppliers or SBD plant to facilitate the successful sample builds; Participate the sample build at suppliers or SBD plants.
  • Review and approve robust manufacturing process through utilization of PFMEA, AND poke-a-yoke principles
  • Review and approve quality assurance equipment and documents (Incoming Quality Control, In Process Quality Control including End-Of-Line Testing, Finished Stock Audit, etc.)
  • Highlight any risks and concerns relative to product quality and/or project schedule
  • Organize the completion of the products qualification
  • Timely release of engineering documentation (drawings, bills of material, quality critical features, etc.) per need
  • Coordinate effective communication across all team members, both internal and external
  • Continuous improvement plans for mature products
  • Primary Finish Goods supply base and critical sub-suppliers' development
  • Some travel required (Domestic & International)
  • The Person

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent is required
  • Self-motivated, creative, goal-oriented and good team player
  • At least 3 years of Mechanical Design experience preferred with manufacturing exposure
  • Experience in use 2D/3D design software, firm understanding of GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
  • Awareness of design for manufacturing, metrology methods, and quality control practices
  • Mechanical processing exposure or experience, including machining, casting, molding, heat treatment, etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills & hand on abilities to build prototypes, diagnose problems, and report findings or corrective actions
  • Excellent communication skills. Must be able to work with a global team
  • Demonstrated leadership aptitude in prior project experience
  • Good experience in using MS Office software
  • Good command of English reading and writing
  • Personal or professional familiarity with power tools is a plus
