    The OneDrive and SharePoint Engineering Fundamentals team is looking for a highly technical Principal Product Manager who is passionate about enabling thousands of engineers around the world to do their best work.

    Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience working on cross-team projects, product development, or delivering large projects or platform products, preferably in a technical space (engineering systems, cloud computing, etc.).Experienced in data or AI projects/products is a plus.
  • Proven ability to impact and influence business decisions, passion for the customer and ability to innovate.
  • Solution and result oriented, able to work independently and to drive.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job.
  • Excellent English speaking / writing, formal presentation, and interpersonal skills, with a keen ability to communicate ideas effectively with executives and teams across multiple cultures and geos.
  • Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a Product Owner in an Agile development environment.
  • Experience as a software engineer, preferably in a leadership role, is a big advantage for understanding the product and customers.
  • BS/MS in Computer Science or a related technical field is preferred but not required.

    As the product manager, you will need to:

  • Gain a deep understanding of customer experience, identify and fill product gaps and generate new ideas that grow adoption and improve customer experience.

  • Act as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding among your customers.
  • About the Position

    We are looking for a highly experienced and curious Principal Product Manager who is not afraid of a big challenge or trying new things. The ideal candidate has a passion and a track record of improving engineering processes and systems for large codebases, or a related area such as cloud platforms.

    We have a wide range of interesting and challenging problems to solve, including build optimization, dependency and package management, continuous integration and deployment, compliance, test suite AI/LLMs/Copilots will play a key role, and we are looking at further innovating in this space.

    Managing process and culture change across the OneDrive and SharePoint organization of thousands of engineers, as well as the broader Microsoft 365 organization, is both a major challenge and opportunity.

    The ideal Product Manager is customer-oriented with strong product and project management skills, solid technical understanding, the ability to "go deep", and great interpersonal skills. You are expected to own and drive the engineering system area, understand needs, develop the roadmap, and negotiate priorities with stakeholders and partners.
