- Accountable for continuously updated regional procurement strategy and governance aligned with global procurement, business divisions, commercial strategies, and set-up of implementation approach

- Define strategic action areas and measures and execute optimization roadmap
- Continuously review and adjust the regional procurement strategy in alignment with global procurement
- Collaborate closely with regional Operations, R&D, and supply chain functions to optimize regional organization performance and business excellence.
- Execute procurement corporate standards locally. Support development, maintenance, and update standardized procurement processes, procedures, tools, and systems
- Leadership team and staff selection, development, compensation, appraisal
- Procurement Execution
- Review and analyze regular procurement reports for key KPIs to identify and proactively resolve issues
- Conduct category management to provide a streamlined and high-performing supplier portfolio
- Develop regional annual category improvement plans and execute annual cost negotiations
- Develop suppliers in accordance with the management system and internal standards
- Conduct supplier phase-in, including negotiation, tendering, and contract management, and phase-out, including termination, legal and system exit handling, etc.
- Define and execute on critical supply lines to create strategic second-sourcing options
- Develop and execute forward sourcing strategy to optimize time-to-market, target cost, and material quality
- Manage series sourcing/optimization for material changes (fit, form, function)
- Manage the supplier quality assurance to aim for "zero failure" delivery of suppliers
- Define supplier quality and reporting standards and conduct audits
- Maintain forward-looking risk, escalation, and complaint management measures
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations, as well as compliance with applicable standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 13485, and cGMP if applicable. Comply with Eppendorf Corporate Standards.
- Degree in business/science/engineering or related studies
- 10+ years of experience in a senior procurement position or related role
- Extensive experience in category/supplier management, forward sourcing, and non-production-material sourcing
- Ability to establish policies and procedures as well as managing improvement agendas and procurement-related process optimization
- Cross-site international experience in the USA, Asia and Europe
- Lean management, agile product development, and preferably Six Sigma belt knowledge
- Preferably industry knowledge in life sciences and/or medical devices
- Excellent local verbal and writing language skills, proficient English skills are a must.
