The Role

We are seeking high-performing staff for our School, commencing in August 2024.

We seek passionate physical education teachers with the vision, ambition and drive to contribute to our rapidly expanding School. Outstanding interpersonal skills are a must, along with a desire to innovate and embrace the challenges and delights that will come with being part of an outstanding team in the seventh year of the school's history. They need to possess excellent organisational and communication skills and be an enthusiastic, energetic and innovative teacher, who is committed to flexible and varied styles of teaching. All academic staff are expected to teach to the highest professional standards and support and uphold the ethos, aims and objectives of the school. We are a community which believes in mutual support and co-operation.

We welcome applications from qualified, experienced, committed physical education teachers working in state and independent sectors in their own countries, as well as those working internationally.

Main duties and responsibilities to include:

 Develop a curriculum that promotes grade-level standards in physical education

 Instruct students the basic techniques needed to play team sports and other recreational activities

 promote a safe and healthy lifestyle that includes regular physical activity

 Monitor and document student participation and progress

Attending regular meetings of school staff at which curriculum planning, student progress, and teaching and learning needs are discussed, and good practice is shared;

 Participation in professional review interviews and regular lesson observations as agreed within the Head;

 Participation in the development and monitoring of Middle & HighSchool targets;

 Thorough planning, preparation and clear presentation of lessons;

 Selecting and using a range of different learning resources and equipment;

 Writing regular, informative and individual reports on pupils;

 Promoting the general well-being of students and communicating with the personal tutor responsible;

 Participating in and organising extracurricular activities as appropriate and as required by Senior Management;

 Complying with policies and procedures, including those relating to Safeguarding and Child Protection, Health and Safety, Welfare, Smoking in the Workplace, Security, Confidentiality and Data Protection, and reporting any concerns.

The nature of teaching and of education is that change is likely, either externally prompted (for instance a local or national government or school board reform) or as a result of School-based initiatives. The successful candidate should therefore expect to undertake any other reasonable duties for the further development of the Middle & High School and of the school ethos in general.

Requirements

 A bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related major

Holder of a Licensee related to teaching or coaching youngsters and / or adults in certain sports

A minimum two years' teaching experience in middle&high school setting;

 Experience of overseas teaching or of teaching international students is an advantage;

 Passion for teaching and commitment to educating the whole child;

 The ability and aspiration to attain high standards;

 Excellent interpersonal skills, visible through their relations with children, colleagues, parents and other professionals;

 Respect for all members of a school community, irrespective of position, age and ethnic background;

 A positive and solution-focused attitude to working life;

 Previous experience working with students for whom English is not their first language;

 A clean police check and no question regarding suitability to work with children.
