We are looking for a Director for Autonomous Vehicles in the DRIVE Context Fusion team. In this role, you will help craft and guide the future of our autonomous driving solution for providing a complete world model including fusing signals between map and perception. We are proud that NVIDIA is playing a meaningful role in the development of self-driving cars, where our hardware and software platforms power a large ecosystem of partners who are working to deliver products, all over the world. In the space of self-driving cars, NVIDIA provides the DRIVE AGX hardware platform which runs our DRIVE software.

We are looking for a leader for our Context Fusion team in China. You will be working closely with our perception and planning teams in providing a world model that is complete and able to drive in the most challenging roads and intersections in China. You will need to achieve this by fusing signals between both Navigation and crowdsourced maps and perception and various other creative approaches. It is a very exciting role that provides a breadth of interesting areas and is central to our vision in AV. What You'll Be Doing:

• Build and run teams responsible for various areas in the context fusion stack.
• Develop core functionality for autonomous driving in all geographies based on the fusion of SOTA perception DNN and map signals.
• Be a technology leader by providing the team guidance on approaches to be taken to solve the hardest of AV problems. Be a hands-on collaborator with the team.
• Design and integrate algorithmic solutions into the core of NVIDIA AV.
• Hiring and mentoring strong leaders within the team.
• Work collaboratively with other AV leaders to build a strong AV product.
• Make sure our algorithms work well on large amounts of real and synthetic data, in a diverse range of environments and conditions
• Produce code and designs following automotive quality and safety standards.
• Get into an OEM test vehicle to evaluate your new driving features on the road

What We Need To See:

• BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science or related fields.
• 5+ years in the AV industry and 15+ years of working experience.
• 3+ years of experience leading multiple teams
• Passion for robotics and autonomous vehicles
• Drive to learn new things and tackle meaningful problems
• Outstanding communication and cross-team collaboration especially with multinational teams across the globe.
• Independent and analytical software engineering skills
• Ability to work in both Chinese and English languages.

Ways To Stand Out From The Crowd:

• Background in 3D geometry, computer vision, or state estimation algorithms like Kalman filters, particle filters
• Significant industry experience in the AV area.
• Experience developing real-time Computer Vision systems.
• Experience with mapping software in China (e.g., GCJ-02 coordinate system)
• Strong API and framework design skills
