Job Description

This role supports PSI’s legal needs in China as well as internationally with a primary focus on contracts related to clinical research. As an Associate Legal Counsel you will work closely with PSI’s international legal team as well as with local and international project teams to determine appropriate terms and conditions of contracts and to provide legal advice and support.

Office based position in Shanghai, China

Your role will include:

  • Review, draft and negotiate contracts and other legal documents relating to clinical research, in particular clinical trial, client and IT contracts
  • Prepare, review and draft corporate documents and other legal documents
  • Advise on employment and data protection matters
  • Assist in building up PSI’s office in Shanghai, China
  • Provide legal advice and support within the Legal department and to other PSI departments
  • Develop, review and ensure compliance with PSI policies, procedures and instructions
  • Identify and research various legal issues and assess their impact on business
  • Assist in any other legal matters

    • Qualifications

  • Law degree, with sound knowledge of contract and corporate law
  • Experience in an international commercial legal practice (law firm or in-house position), ideally with exposure to the pharmaceutical sector
  • Knowledge of employment and data protection law as well as IT contracts is a plus
  • Ability to negotiate at all levels
  • Ability to work accurately with strong attention to detail
  • organizational, interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to prioritize and work efficiently under tight deadlines
  • Ability to work independently but also within a team
  • Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office package, in particular MS Word
  • Fluency in Chinese and English, oral and written
