POSITION OVERVIEW

The HHC APAC Pricing Leader reports to the Director, Product Management. This position has APAC regional responsibility within the HHC organization for improving our pricing culture and pricing effectiveness in line with our global vision and strategy, developing standard tools and processes, identifying actionable insights and influencing businesses to execute on these opportunities.

The scope of the position includes:

  • Ensuring all stakeholders have sufficient training and knowledge to use the FLIP tool effectively, and ensure FLIP is the only tool used to manage customer pricing in APAC
  • Supervising, driving tracking and measuring regional or segment price increase campaigns
  • Develop insights which identify where we have pricing strengths we can leverage as well as pricing opportunities for improvement we need to fix, from the SBU to the individual level.
  • Help guide and influence the HHC organization. across all levels by providing data driven insights to improve revenue and profitability.
  • Influencing key stakeholders, including VPs, Segment Leaders, Business Directors, Business Finance Partners, Marketing and Sales.
  • Support the segments and APAC region with data analysis and reporting
  • PRIMARY DUTIES

    Pricing Excellence Culture

  • Develop data driven insights which identifies strategic opportunities to improve revenue and profit
  • Supervising and driving price increase campaigns, from agreeing the initial price increase strategies and data sets, coordinating the files and increase letters, and ensuring all of the data is loaded back into FLIP on time and in full. Tracking and measuring the impact of each price increase campaign
  • Identify broken processes where we can improve the effectiveness and efficiency pricing in the APAC region
  • Ensure that every account and pricing owner in APAC has had formal training in FLIP and that they are completely comfortable and autonomous regarding all of the FLIP processes and functionality
  • Ensure all market managers in APAC have had formal training in FLIP and that they are completely comfortable and autonomous in creating pricing segments, adjusting segment hierarchies, setting pricing guidelines within the segments and managing material exceptions.
  • Work with the other SBUs to benchmark and leverage best practices for pricing within H.B. Fuller
  • Price Process Ownership

  • Manage pricing mailbox to support daily sales support requests.
  • Manage ERP tasks to ensure data integrity (e.g. price list scrubs, ad-hoc requests, price breaks credit/rebills etc.).
  • Work closely with the Customer Service team to effectively manage surcharge initiatives (e.g. fuel surcharge, less than pallet fees, etc.).
  • Support day to day sales management questions around costing and price. Be prepared to challenge inquiries and promote a value-based approach to pricing.
  • Management of Pricing & Offer Elements

  • FLIP data integrity – close working relationship with Finance, Sourcing, IT and the Global Pricing Team to secure and sustain the integrity of data flowing into the FLIP Pricing Tool.
  • Ensure the integrity of all pricing and offer related elements in FLIP (e.g. minimum order quantities, freight terms, credit terms, lead times, rebates and equipment, etc.).
  • Co-ordinate price lock activities to ensure customer order price overrides are efficiently processed.
  • Maintain price change approvals and keep records to ensure audit and SOX compliance.
  • Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Business, Marketing or a related field
  • Advanced level Excel skills
  • Fluent in English and Chinese
  • The candidate should be:

  • Accomplished at pricing, marketing and/or commercial finance in a data-driven environment. Proven track record. 
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic and energetic style; sets the example and creates an environment of high expectations.
  • Consultative in approach to identifying and delivering solutions.
  • Highly analytical yet capable of influencing and working with action-/commercial-oriented individuals
  • Adept at grasping, understanding and articulating strategic business and process issues.
  • Comfortable prioritizing competing needs under tight time and resource constraints and capable of developing and mobilizing plans to address resource gap.
  • The candidate should have:

  • Ability to shift from details to high-level to meet diverse needs of leadership and team members
  • Must possess excellent analytical skills to ensure accurate data preparation for decision support yet bring learnings from the detail to a strategic thinking level.
  • Excellent team and negotiation skills; the ability to develop working relationships with individuals at all levels within the organization.
  • Excellent planning and organizational skills. Ability to coordinate across multiple business lines and geographies.
  • Solid skills with Microsoft Office applications (e.g. Excel and PowerPoint), data warehouse and ERP systems, preferably experience with SAP.
  • Strong business acumen and understanding of financial elements related to pricing.
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Experience in Pricing, Marketing or Finance
  • 4+ years’ experience in Pricing role preferred
  • Certified Pricing Professional (CPP) or equivalent
