• Job Description Summary

China manager for statutory reporting including local audited financials, financial policies and procedures, internal controls certification and internal / external audits. The scope of responsibility includes Finance, Accounting, internal controls, management of external relationships with vendors providing financial services and other administrative related statutory tasks. This role is based in Shanghai, China and reports to the China F&A Lead

Job Responsibilities:


o Provide all required information for monthly/quarterly close to Global Accounting Hub

o Ensure accuracy of financial statutory reporting packages, including BS, P/L and cashflow statement

o Prepare monthly account reconciliation and quarterly US / Local GAAP reconciliation

o Ensure proper recording of GL account codes, WBS codes and other required information

o Ensure appropriate journal entries are submitted to Global Accounting team in a timely manner

o Determine and provide guidance on local accounting treatments under US GAAP in partnership with global accounting colleagues

o Prepare statutory financials for inclusion in meetings

o Prepare monthly cash flow forecast and long-term capital planning forecasts for Treasury

o Monitor and ensure accuracy of intercompany (I/C) entries and clearing accounts

o Monitor Open-Item-Management accounts

o Monitor and ensure financial controls and compliance, including adherence to local finance policies

o Manage all internal and external statutory financial audits (e.g. requirements related to government grants) and implements recommended improvements

Financial Controls and Process Improvement

o Define local financial / accounting procedures (i.e. fixed asset inventory)

o Develop and implement business processes to mitigate compliance risks and improve efficiency

o Manages annual internal controls certification (IICC) process

Business Partnering and Other Ad Hoc Activities

o Manage financial deliverables for government grant submissions

o Manage ad hoc tasks and projects requested by China Finance Director / F&A Lead

o Train new employees on local financial policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

o Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or Economics

o More than 5 years of experience in controlling, finance, accounting, audit, tax and treasury activities in international environment

o Good written, verbal communication and presentation skills

o Fluency in English, both in written and oral communication

o Excellent user of Office Programs as Word, Excel, Powerpoint

Preferred Qualifications

o Bachelor’s degree in business and/or MBA degree

o Certified public accountant

o Track record of successfully establishing and maintaining business processes

o Experience in cross functional business partnering and influencing without authority

o Strong project management skills

o Experience in biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry

o Experience with SAP

o Working knowledge of US GAAP/PRC GAAP
