Job title: Marketing Development Specialist
Reports to: Regional Marketing Manager Asia Pacific
Within the SE APAC Team, the job holder is responsible for conducting thorough preliminary and detailed market assessments in the APAC region. He/she will initiate projects related to new business development from concept to completion. He/she will support the Regional Marketing Manager by using proven marketing tools, techniques, and strategies in the development and execution of the regional marketing plan.

Principal accountabilities Assess all potential hazards and ensure that he/she has a full appreciation of all the safety aspects of his/her work. Maintain good housekeeping and a safe working environment, both for their own security and those around them. Act at all times in full knowledge of and total compliance with company safety standards. Initiate and manage projects related to new business opportunities within a multi-disciplinary team, ensuring timely completion of deliverables as set out in the Elastomers marketing and technology processes. Interact with and influence group members. Initiate and lead thorough preliminary and detailed market assessments of growth opportunities within project teams. Analyze data from multiple internal and external sources of information in an effort to build detailed marketing plans. Form conclusions and recommendations and present concisely to project teams. Understand how to construct industry value chains and identify key customer values; recognize how product benefits can create value in new market opportunities. Use this knowledge to build compelling value propositions for new developments.
Special Features Good communication, team work and relationship building skills are essential, both with internal and external contacts, at all levels within the organization. The primary contacts are with the APAC Elastomers team, but the position will also interface with various industry groups and customers. Use knowledge of markets and value chains to build comprehensive marketing plans based on fundamental data analysis. Must provide convincing arguments for these marketing plans to gain commitment from peers, supervisors, and higher levels. The jobholder is able to interface with and influence project team members, align technical and marketing activities and build comprehensive marketing plans. The jobholder works independently with indirect supervision and is able to make decisions relating to own area of responsibility. Significant travel within APAC to visit customers and partners as part of project and/or market assessment work. Cross regional scope may require interaction with other groups in order to build complimentary plans.
Knowledge, experience and skills required The jobholder should be educated with a bachelor’s degree or a post graduate degree with at least 3 year of technical or commercial experience in industrial marketing Has demonstrable ability to conduct project related work with multi-disciplinary teams, adhering to high standards in delivering agreed milestones Completes work independently with limited supervision and is responsible for the accuracy and quality of assignments Accepts difficulties and challenges with a can-do attitude Identifies how benefits translate to value for customers and uses this to build value propositions The jobholder has very strong oral and written communication
Fluent in English and Mandarin. All other languages are an asset
