Job Description and Qualifications

POSITION SUMMARY
 
This position is responsible for ASU, Purifier and Gasifier work safety and health, and report to Site EH&S Manager, This position plays a key role to assist site EH&S manager to achieve high EHS performance in unit, maintain compliance of Airproducts EHS system and local EHS related law and regulation.
 
NATURE AND SCOPES
 
The main functions of this position are:
 

  • Provide coaching and support for plant leaders to help ensure we are in compliance with standards, regulations and corporate policies related to Environmental, Health and Safety. Provide expertise on Health and Safety issues such as high risk or unusual activities.
    •  
  • Conduct/provide Basic Safety Process coaching and assessments, critical systems audits as needed based on data trends or EH&S observations; assessing business impacts (cost/resources/time) in regards to non-routine, Health and Safety issues.
    •  
  • Lead and co-ordinate by assisting with Injury Management/Medical issues, interpretation of Global Health and Safety standard requirements for sites and provide guidance to line organization during announced/unannounced regulatory inspections. Provide expertise in regards to chemical safety, PPE, SDS requirements/interpretation assistance.
    •  
  • Driving consistency in implementation of company initiatives and programs such as Global Standards, APSAM, and Basic Safety Process, Event management, compliance manager in unit.

    PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES
     
     
  • To plan and instruct Worker H&S management of the units;Provide assistance to sites to achieve compliance with Air Products standards and agency requirementsExpound regulations and permit limitations into a clearly stated set of operating requirements, then assisting our site supervisor through guidance, training and leadership to fulfill those responsibilities;Supporting the development of EH&S compliance systems and assess their effectiveness;Coaching the application of the Basic Safety Process;

  • To plan and implement examinations and inspections of labor safety and health installations;Coordinate site sound level surveysCoordinate Fit of duty if someone leaves job more than 6 months
    •  
  • To direct and supervise related personnel in conducting inspection tours, periodic, inspections, priority inspections and measurement of work environment.
    •  
  • To plan and monitor the effectiveness of safety and health education and training.
    •  
  • To develop site tier 3/4 safety programs and monitoring the progress of execution, such as,
    •  
  • Safety work permit and energy isolation program,
  • Confined space program
  • Hearing conservation program,
  • Respirator protection program
  • Fitness of duty
  • Site traffic control plan
  • Safety emergency plan
  • Emergency response team build up and annual refresh training
    •  
  • Maintain EH&S and other regulated documents and participate in related audits.
    •  
  • Leading / facilitate incident investigation, conduct injury management if injury happening
    •  
  • Monitor and track the corrective action from routine inspection, incident investigation, internal and external EH&S audits, annual H&S improvement plan
    •  
  • Any other duties as assigned

    JOB REQUIREMENTS
    Candidates for this position with be evaluation on the basis of the following:
     
  • Bachelor degree or above, majoring in safety/ chemical engineering or other engineering sectors.
  • 5+ Years EH&S related work experiences in chemical plants or engineering sector, 3 years Multinational company are preferred.
  • Good English skills both in reading, good computer skills.
  • Good personality, good communication skills and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrates ability to plan, organize and control multiple work assignments.
