- Prepare layouts, CAD models, related drawings, and bills of material and release production information to provide specifications for customer orders and/or development requirements. Complete this task without supervision on standard designs.
- Conduct investigations, perform complex calculations, and run tests as required to provide data for decisions in support of item #1 with minimum supervision required.
- Organize work and/or projects and if directed act as group leader for design or process.
- Attain cost target for newly designed assemblies as assigned.
- Participate in programmes with Joy globally to ensure effective communication on all relevant engineering issues and adoption of global engineering standards, ensuring compliance of products & services with global & regional requirements in terms of design and safety.
- A 4-year Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or equivalent relevant discipline required.
- Post qualification of 3 to 5 years machine design experience are required.
- Some experience in machine application or application of technical expertise is expected.
- Proficient in the use of computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
- Underground mining especially longwall mining work experience is highly preferred.
- Powered roof support and hydraulic experience will be beneficial
