The primary role of the Biophysics Senior Scientist (up to Director-level) will be to develop and pre-validate methods, test samples and report data, as required by project contracts within the DB Department in Shanghai.

For Director level, please refer to the first two requirements.
The Role

• (Director-level): demonstrated accountability, management experiences, skills with accomplished milestones are required.
• (Director-level): training staff, review and approve the data reports, coordinate the projects, supervise the environments including instruments, arrange the resources, define the quotation structure, represent the team and platform to negotiate with the client and work with BD and PM supports, approve the final quotation, and responsible for the performances (. revenue, future plans, strategies, and budget) of the platform.
• In support of large and small molecule therapeutics, perform and/or guide method development. Also, execute laboratory work plans/schedules for self and junior members of team, using customer milestones and Division/site performance standards and metrics.
• As a project leader, leads and collaborates and manages the member(s) and or team(s) for the drug screening and or developments with assays and characterization methods, including but not limited to protein production, binding assays and possibly structure validation in the end.
• Surface Plasma Resonance and or Microscale Thermophoresis Technology (., SPR and MST for large and small molecules or relevant biophysics analytical methods, such as ITC, nanoDSF, DLS, or structural biology related technologies, such as NMR, crystallography, or Cryo EM)
• Develop and pre-validate quantitative SPR and or MST (SPR/MST hereafter) methods
• Develop, optimize, and qualify SPR/MST-based methods to characterize biological products
• Perform characterization and impurity identification assay
• Daily operation and support of SPR/MST systems in the lab
• Demonstrate competency in troubleshooting, optimization, and implementation of challenging and innovative SPR/MST assays
• Perform SPR/MST workflow including sample preparation, method development and execution, data acquisition and analysis, and report writing
• Develop and adhere to established Standard Operating Procedures and contribute to method, pre-validation protocols and reports
• In addition to SPR/MST, support other techniques used for large molecules within the group.

This may include the following:

1.Coordinate and lead experts from drug screening, protein production, biophysics, and structural biology to develop and optimize drug hits to leads.

2.Intrinsic fluorescence-based methods, ITC, BLI and other biophysical methods
3.Independently authors and approves technical documents, such as protocols, test methods, and text reports.
4.Review technical documents for accuracy and thoroughness.
5.Trains, coaches or mentor team members and or others on technical, personal development or business issues
6.Supervises technical staff, including work assignments and performance and development management
7.Responsible as project technical lead on multiple projects, with responsibility for project outcome and customer interaction, including developing customer relationship to grow the business
8.Drives improvement projects at the department level. Identifies opportunities for improvement projects
9.Support development of business strategies across the business units.
10.All other duties as assigned

任职资格:

Experience:

Master Degree:
>4 years of relevant SPR industrial experience preferred or based on performance at WXAT such as BLI experiences.


Doctorate Degree:
fresh Ph. D. can be evaluated. However, industrial experiences of relevant SPR (and BLI) are highly preferred.


Requirements :

• Large-molecule SPR or BLI experience
• Significant experience in method development and troubleshooting
• Protein structural biology or biophysical background is preferred.
• Experiences with small molecule drug research, development or screening is preferred.
• Proficiency with SPR/MST software as well as spreadsheet, word processing, and graphical computer programs
• Knowledge of chromatographic assay and GMP regulations is preferred.
