- Deliver a weekly timetable of lessons as per the schedule set by the Head of Department or Whole School Director.
- Understand all the professional expectations associated with being a classroom teacher based on the school's Teaching and Learning Policy.
- Monitor and track the academic progress of students in your class through necessary assessments.
- Produce termly student reports and participate in parent conferences as per the school's annual calendar.
- Contribute to the staff rota for boarding house supervision on a weekly basis, including weekends if necessary, as instructed by the Deputy Head Pastoral.
- Take part in the CCA programme by leading or assisting in an activity for students weekly, including Saturday activities scheduled by the Director of CCA's.
- Engage in the annual expeditions programme, involving residential trips up to a week, either within China or neighboring countries.
- Attend extracurricular events, parent information evenings, and community events as requested by the Heads of Schools and/or Head of Department.
- Participate in school representation at official functions when requested by the Head of Department.
- Teach the required load as specified by the Head of Department.
- Set a good example in all professional aspects to ensure teachers and students adhere to standards like dress code, punctuality, and mutual support.
- Contribute to the school's vision development and ensure students, staff, and parents align with it.
- Show commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare, in line with the school's values.
- Must have the ability and willingness to motivate others, setting an example by embodying the School's vision statement Leadership for a better world in interactions with students, colleagues, and parents.
- Understanding of (or eagerness to learn) Chinese Cultural norms, and the Mandarin and/or Chinese National curriculum.
- For Chinese Nationals - proficiency in both Chinese and English languages.
- Readiness to collaborate closely with Chinese peers in a co-teaching and co-planning environment essential for successful curriculum delivery.
- Appropriate teaching qualifications and experience.
- Strong dedication to upholding high standards in teaching and learning at the school.
