Job Description:
The Senior Network Engineer plays a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. This position involves leading network projects, providing technical expertise, and ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network systems. The Senior Network Engineer collaborates closely with cross-functional teams to develop solutions that meet business needs and drive innovation in our network environment.
Job Requirements
Education: Require at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field. Prefer candidates with a master's degree or higher certifications.
Experience: Several years of experience in networking roles. This experience includes progressively responsible positions such as network administrator, network engineer, or similar roles. For a Senior Network Engineer position, it needs anywhere from 5 to 10 years or more of relevant experience.
Certifications: The CCIE certification is a Must, a high level of expertise in designing, implementing, managing, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures. AWS/Azure Certifications, VMware Certifications, Palo Alto Networks Certifications , Fortinet Certifications , CISP or equivalent certifications are preferred.
Skills: In addition to certifications and formal education, Senior Network Engineers need a broad range of technical skills.
Including: Advanced knowledge of networking protocols and technologies, including TCP/IP, routing protocols (OSPF, EIGRP, BGP), switching, VLANs, VPNs, MPLS, etc.
Expertise in network design, implementation, and optimization, including designing scalable and resilient network architectures.
Proficiency in network security principles and best practices, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, VPNs, and access control.
Experience with network monitoring, performance tuning, and troubleshooting tools.
Strong understanding of cloud networking concepts and technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, needs to collaborate with other IT teams, management, and external vendors or clients.
Continuous Learning: The field of networking is constantly evolving, with new technologies, protocols, and threats emerging regularly as well as to be committed to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the industry.
