- Our Industrial Connectivity group develops innovative, sustainable and secure solutions at the edge between Automation and IT. Both in team as well as independently, you deliver Connectivity to integrate our production plants into the digital world. On a typical workday, you'll find yourself doing anyone of the following things (most of them at the same time...).
- Development, implementation and support of FieldtoCloud Solutions. These are innovative IoT and Industrial IoT Connectivity solutions to integrate new "Things" like low cost sensors or digital islands (existing digital systems without connectivity) into the digital world of BASF.
- Building Connectivity from field devices to Cloud platforms over gateways.
- Consulting of internal customers like plant managers, asset managers and maintenance managers about the possibilities of IoT and Industry4.0 solutions: defining the right connectivity strategy, the appropriate technical solution and the potential benefits.
- Project management of FieldtoCloud implementation projects.
- Training of key stakeholders in FieldtoCloud implementation projects, like asset managers, maintenance managers, operators, etc.
- Continuing the development of the BASF Industrial IoT connectivity portfolio (including the underlying networks) with Lora, LTE, NarrowBand-IoT and 5G technologies.
- Actively looking for new technologies and Industrial IoT solutions on the market. Proposing, developing and implementing alternative and creative solutions that fit to the customers need.
- Support and consulting of BASF colleagues in all regions with the implementation of Connectivity solutions.
- You've successfully finished your Bachelor or Master in Automation Engineering or Computer Sciences or hold an equivalent degree.
- Experience and knowhow of IT networks, mobile solutions, IoT protocols, Gateways, cloud platforms.
- Good combination of a solid technical understanding with practical experience.
- Experience with programming and configuration of PLC's and gateways.
- Convincing communication and presentation skills in English (German is a plus).
- A team player that can function well in interdisciplinary teams, but can also take independent decisions when necessary.
- Excellent management skills of complex and agile projects.
- A strong commitment to get the job done and deliver results, combined with excellent analytical and conceptional skills.

BASF is currently building a new Verbund site in Zhanjiang, Guangdong province.Announced in July 2018 and officially commenced in November 2019, BASF Zhanjiang Verbund Site Project would be BASF's largest investment with up to US$10 billion upon completion and would be operated under the sole responsibility of BASF.
BASF Zhanjiang Verbund site would ultimately be the third-largest BASF site worldwide, and will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production by utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards.
The new smart Verbund site will include a steam cracker with a capacity of 1 million metric tons of ethylene per year and downstream plants for consumer-oriented products.
By utilizing the latest digital technologies and applying the highest safety standards, the site will be built into a role model for smart manufacturing and sustainable production.
