Principal Research Analyst, APAC Power - Beijing

Job summary
We are seeking an experienced Principal Research Analyst to join our APAC Power and Renewables research team. The successful candidate will lead the establishment of new and iterations of existing power market simulation models using industry recognized tools.The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in power market modeling using leading platforms and tools such as PLEXOS, AURORA, PyPSA, DigSILENT PowerFactory or other industry-grade models developed for power system dispatch simulation price forecasting scenario analysis and trading analytics. They should also have advanced proficiency in data science visualization statistical analysis and automation using Python R or similar coding languages.
This role will be instrumental in advancing our APAC power and renewable quantitative analysis and modelling capabilities working closely with research consulting teams globally to set up fine tune power market models for timely investment decisions trading strategies Key Responsibilities Lead the establishment of new iterative versions of existing global ESG datasets Apply cutting-edge data science methods to produce advanced forecast outputs Support regional research analysts with quantitative analysis report writing when needed Work with other research teams share practice align data agree on findings ensure consistency client facing deliverables Share findings reports presentations client briefings support projects bespoke studies ensure accuracy delivered on time answer related questions Work commercial team pursue business opportunities demonstrate services modelling capabilities.
