designed to help us achieve this vision and is created from four parts: science, customers, operations and people.
We invest in our world class science and technology; use it to solve our customers' complex problems with a
focus on remaining or making JM a leader in high margin, tech-driven markets; operate as a safer, more
connected, agile and efficient global business; and deliver it through our great people, shaping the world around
us to make it a cleaner and healthier place. This needs everyone to play their part: to think more flexibly, join
the dots as a global team, combine expertise to make a real impact to our customers and our world.
We're already on our way; fast becoming a more connected, adaptable business, finding more efficient ways to
do things and introducing shared global systems, so we can focus on innovation and improvement and make
decisions more quickly. We have a responsibility to ensure that the products we make – and the way that we
make them – is as sustainable as possible, whether that’s keeping our people safe at work, adopting ethical
business practices or reducing greenhouse gas emissions from our facilities.
In summary, JM's overarching strategy is focused on sustainability and the race to net zero, while always working
safely, doing the right thing and leading through our JM-behaviours. Our JM-wide 2021/2022 key priorities are:
• Accelerate growth plans aligned to sustainability (particularly in Hydrogen and other low carbon
technologies)
• Drive cash generation from our more mature businesses, particularly in Clean Air and drive further metal
efficiencies across the group, including in our PGM refineries
• Accelerate the positioning of JM as a leader in sustainability, clarifying our net zero aspirations and
making tangible initial progress towards the above goals
• Deliver our Capital Projects on time and within budget through a disciplined and systematic approach to
planning, capability build and execution
• Evolve our culture by working together to be more externally focussed and drive performance at pace so
that we deliver our purpose
• Embed and enable our ways of working, unlocking value from our investments and new operating models
